Hazeltine Wedding:: Erin and Mike

She laughed at his jokes, but when Mike asked Erin out, she really wasn’t interested. Sure, he was kind-hearted, witty, and loved golf, but she wasn’t looking for any type of relationship. It was her good friend that convinced her to go out with Mike for the first date.

”What’s the worst that can happen, she asked Erin? You aren’t planning on marrying him!”

Little did any of them know, but that’s exactly what would happen a few years later!

Mike has been so insistent on connecting with Erin’s dad to ask for his blessing, so when her father gave the ok, Mike set out to surprise Erin! Because they had picked out the ring together, Erin was anxious to have it on her finger. Mike completely surprised her and the two set out to plan their July wedding.

Their day was absolutely beautiful. The July humidity had gone down and the 78 degree temps with a slight breeze made for a gorgeous day at Hazeltine Golf Course.

Christina Anderson created the mos stunning white and green blooms that were accented by the navy Besoi gowns that the bridesmaids wore from The Wedding Shoppe. Erin’s beautiful gown from Essence of Austrailia from Luxe Bridal Couture was stunning and when paired with her long train.

The groomsmen’s gray suits were a perfect shade of gray to highlight the summer day.

Sterling Catering provided an incredible meal, while Buttercream and Muddy Paws Cheesecake’s brought in a sweet treat for the end of the evening.

Lori Cole brought in up lighting and draperies to add to Hazeltine’s already elegant ballroom and Jimmy from Instant request had guests dancing the night away!

Erin and Mike, it was an honor to spend your day with you!  Many blessings to you as you start your new life together as husband and wife!

Country Farm Wedding:: Chelsey and Preston

He noticed the way she scrunched her nose when she laughed and Preston was caught off guard by the sophomore on his intramural basketball team.  The two were only in high school when they met, but a budding romance was beginning.

When Preston joined the United States navy, Chelsey followed him and the two lived on the East coast for a while.  She knew she wanted to finish her nursing degree and moved back to Minnesota.  When Preston got orders that he would be going to Hawaii next, the two knew the next steps would be marriage.

When Preston was home over Christmas, the couple decided to head to one of their favorite restaurants, Uptown Tavern in Minneapolis, and then headed to ACME for a comedy show.  It was a frigid evening (like -18 degrees!) and when the two arrived back at Preston’s home, he asked her to go for a walk on their family pond where he was hoping to propose.  Being that Chelsey was in a dress and already so cold that she declined not really knowing what was happening.  But Preston was persistent and found a spot in his home to still get down on one knee and ask Chelsey to be his wife! Their July day was full of family and friends that gathered from all over the central Minnesota area.  The couple decided to have their ceremony at their home church, Christ our Light Catholic Church, and then headed to Chelsey’s parents family farm for a beautiful outdoor reception under a tent. Chelsey’s lace Madison James dress was stunning when paired with the navy suits from Men’s Warehouse.  The girls wore maroon dresses from David’s Bridal and the blooms from Rebecca’s Flowers were full of stunning peony’s, roses and greens that popped when put against the dresses. Spalonte Salon created a beautiful up do for Chelsey and her bridesmaids, while Kayla Younique made Chelsey shine with the make-up she provided. Because Chelsey and her family grew up where they had their reception, we utilized so many meaningful places. The old school house, where she and her siblings used to play, created a beautiful backdrop for photos. We were also able to jump into the horse pasture with some of the horses that Chelsey still rides when she is at home. Henry’s Catering provided a perfect meal for the outdoor evening and Nadia Cakes provided the yummy cupcakes for guest to enjoy during speeches. Neil from Midwest Sound got guests moving on the dance floor while all were able to enjoy a beautiful July evening

Chelsey and Preston, congratulations to you, it was an honor to spend the day with you and your sweet families.  I wish you the best of luck as you travel to your next destination in life!!

    • Absolutely Beautiful Wedding! Photographer was amazing. I love this couple and the memories will be forever.

Minneapolis Event Center Wedding:: Carissa and Preston

Eleven years ago at a high school football game Preston spotted Carissa struggling to carry an orange Gatorade cooler across the field for his teammates.  Being the chivalrous guy that he was, he ran over to help the blonde girl with the metallic smile out. Carissa had an immediate crush on Preston glasses and all. Thinking Carissa might be quite a bit younger than him, Preston suggested to his brother that he might be interested in dating Carissa.  It wasn’t until flirting and quite a few nervous phone calls that Preston gathered the nerve to ask Carissa out on the dance floor at their homecoming dance in 2006.

Upon finding that they were only a year apart, the two started dating in high school and continued dating throughout their time at different colleges throughout the state of Illinois. Preston eventually graduated and moved to Charlotte for his first “big boy” job.  Carissa spent that summer with him in the Ozarks crafting adult beverages and enjoying the area.

Carissa went back to school to finish up her teaching degree and Preston migrated north to the great state on Minnesota.  Tired of the long distance relationship and Skype meetings, Carissa showed up to his door one day with her luggage and moved in with him.  Finally after living apart for so long were they together again. It was here that they both knew they were ready to be married.

On Carissa’s spring break, the couple decided to vacation to Savannah, GA As the two walked along the beautiful Jones street they came across a fountain and Preston stopped to ask a stranger to take a photo of the couple.  Upon handing over the camera to her, he fumbled around in his pocked to take out a ring.  Carissa thinking that he was taking his sweet time for the photo asked “what are you doing?” Seeing him starting to get down on one knee she cried “What ARE you doing?!” Preston then asked her to marry him while the stranger captured the whole thing.  Both Carissa and the stranger were in tears as she squealed a resounding YES!

Their Minneapolis wedding reflected their love of Minneapolis.  The two were wed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.  Their beautiful July wedding day was full of sun and joy as they celebrated with friends and family from all over the US.  Carissa’s beautiful Beloved wedding dress purchased from Bella Bridal Boutique paired perfectly with the greens and white blooms that Florals by Claire created for the day. Carissa beautiful solitaire ring from Contenial Diamond was beautiful. She also wore a ring specifically created for her from her grandmother’s ring. SM Hair and Make up created the most beautiful up-dos for the ladies. Carissa’s beautiful bridesmaids wore a beautiful champagne Mori Lee dress that popped when put up against Preston’s groomsmen’s gray Michael Kors tuxes. Because both Carissa and Preston love the many distilleries in the Minnepolis area, they decided to hit up Tattersall Distillery in Minneapolis and traveled in Eclipse transportation to the the Stone Arch Bridge and the surrounding area with their wedding party. It was a beautiful evening for photos and we even were able to score a perfect location with the city in the background. For the ceremony and the traditional photos downtown, Carissa wore beautiful Nina shoes, but once they got to the reception, she broke out the cutest Kate Spade Keds to dance through the night.

Buttercream cakes created a beautiful table full of sweets and desserts including mint and chocolate cupcakes.

Anthony of Instant Request kept guests dancing the night away in the Grand Room at the Minneapolis Event Center. Carissa and Preston, thank you for including me in your day.  It was beautiful and I wish you both so much joy as you continue your next adventure of life together

Green Acres Event Center Wedding:: Candace and Preston

Match.com’s analytic department must be pretty incredible because Candace and Preston are yet just one more example of another couple who met on their site. Candace and Preston’s laid back personalities, love for travel and loyalty to friends compliment one another, and probably one of the reasons they were drawn to one another.

After running errands for the entire day after Christmas, both Candace and Preston were exhausted and decided to spend the evening in. Earlier in the day, Preston had convinced Candace to buy him one more Christmas present online.  She thought nothing about it. Later that evening, he ran upstairs to finish packing up a few things for work the next day, and after a few minutes returned coyly downstairs to Candace. She was lying on the couch when he slyly told her that he too had one more gift for her, and pulled out a beautiful diamond ring and asked her to marry him! Taken completely off guard, she said yes and the two spent the rest of the night celebrating and sharing the news with family and friends.

Their intimate wedding at Green Acres was exactly what Preston and Candace had in mind.  Because Preston’s travel schedule with Bosh is so encompassing, the two decided to aim for a a Thursday wedding with close family and friends in order to spend a long weekend with them.

Candace’s ivory satan gown purchased at the Wedding Shoppe was a perfect fit for the July day.  Molly Mcgarrity, a close friend of the bride’s, did Candace’s hair and make up for the day making Candace look radiant.

The beautiful summer blooms from Trader Joes and Sam’s that Leah Grover created, held up perfectly on the hot July day and looked stunning against the blue dresses that Candace’s bridesmaids wore.

Event123, an online Etsy shop, put together the simple stationary for the day and Ryan Paulaitis created the hand chalked boards for guests to admire.

Preston’s Calvin Klein suit from Men’s Warehouse was the perfect shade of gray and Ali and Ivy created a stunning corsage for his father in law and and the mother’s.

Because both Candace and Preston really wanted to make sure their guests felt welcome, they greeted their guests before the ceremony began and spent the first hour before the outdoor ceremony making sure everyone felt welcome. Their ceremony ended right before a band of storms came in making it romantic and intimate for guests. Sterling Catering brought out some of the very best dishes, chicken and sweet potatoes were some of the delicacies Preston and Candace added to their day.

Being with friends and family was really what this couple desired.  Having s’mores over the bonfire, drinking wine on the patio, eating great food together, and catching up with great conversation while celebrating their wedding day was the perfect celebration for them.

Candace and Preston, I was honored to be a part of your day, thank you for making me feel like a long time friend and for allowing me to be a part of your sweet celebration.

Minneapolis Club Wedding:: Mikaela and Nick

Being rooted in their love of languages, similar experiences in Europe, and firm commitment to helping others, Mikaela and Nick were destined to be together. The couple met on their very first day of orientation in Graduate school as they were both studying medicine.

At the meet and greet, Nick mentioned to someone that he used to live in Belgium and spoke French. Upon hearing that, the person blurted out; “oh my gosh, you have to meet this girl Mikaela, she used to live in France!” He circulated for a few more minutes until he met the girl named Mikaela and knew right then and there he had to figure out how to ask her out.

He decided on asking her to lunch at Brasa in North East Minneapolis and after a few hours of talking, they decided on another date the following weekend at the Artist Inspired Mini Golf at the Walker for their first proper “date”.

After dating for a few years, both Nick and Mikaela knew they wanted to marry and both went together to pick out Mikaela’s ring. Both had been anxiously awaiting its arrival and because Mikaela’s parents were coming from England, they wanted to show it off. The very next day the ring arrived and Nick told Mikaela he wanted to take her out for a drive. Although they were both very open about the proposal, he played it coy until they arrived on the very same bridge that they had shared their first kiss on three years earlier. On that cold, dark, December night on Lake of the Isles, Nick asked Mikaela to marry him.

Their July summer wedding day was quite the opposite of the dark cold night. Beautiful, sunny and hot, Nick and Mikaela were wed at the Minneapolis Club in downtown Minneapolis. With it’s dark wood and gorgeous intricacies, their wedding day was full of rich, classic elegance.Mikaela’s ivory, silk Martina Liana wedding dress from Bridal Accent Couture was stunning when aired with Nick’s black tux and bow tie. Her hair and make up done by Karli and Brianna from Eye Do fit the classic elegance style of the day.

Indulge and Bloom created a stunning array of blooms that looked incredible when paired with the silvery-gray Levkoff bridesmaid dresses.

Queen of Cakes put together not only a gorgeous cake for reception guests, but it also looked stunning against the classic rich dark wood in the club.Mikaela’s Tiffany wedding ring and Nick’s band from RF Moller when paired with the stationary from Minted added yet another personal classic touch to the day.

Friends and family danced the night away to the Bluewater Kings they tore the place down!

Nick and Mikaela, what an honor it was to be a part of your wedding day.  Thank you, it was an incredible honor!
