Real life:: week 3

*Sigh* When will spring get here?!

I have been desperately trying not to complain because, after all, I choose to live in Minnesota.  I choose to take in the mid -April snowstorms, and shoveling, and scraping and the mid-50 degree tease only the next day to deal with blowing winds.  I choose to stomp in inches of snow and contemplate bringing out my hairdryer just to see the grass again.  But alas, I will not complain.  I will be a true Minnesotan and take it all in one day at a time!

This week, through shoveling, scraping and washing snow pants 3 times, we got in a date night, a shopping trip, dinner with friends and their 18month old son, a trip to the Walker, and smoothies!!  We mailed off our dreaded taxes, stopped by to have coffee with my friend and old neighbor, had a shaving cream day with Ben, had 2 spring sessions get re-scheduled because of the weather and stayed home with the kids because of a snow(ed in) day!

It was a blessed week, but I have to be honest, I am really hoping next week you will be seeing lots of outside photos, minus the snow!!

Have a great weekend!

        Real life: week two

        Happy Friday from the snowy state of Minnesota!  This past weekend I was able to get away with some of my college girlfriends.  We met at a half way point in the beautiful city of Mason City Iowa!  Really we don’t need that much, a place to sleep, coffee shop, and restaurants, and we have a 24 hour gab feast!  My awesome friend Angie was able to captured the weekend perfectly and we talked our hears out!  I also attended 2 of my kids spring (ha!) concerts, got a much needed pedi, relaxed in a snowstorm, picked up props for a future shoot, and aquired an awesome coffee mug from one of my aunts!  It was a great week,–minus the snow!!  Have a great weekend!

        Schut Family:: Minneapolis family

        He will leave to serve our country oversees in June.  Only a few days after his first son is born.

        Families like the Schut’s impress me so much, not only in the sacrifice they make as they serve for us as Americans, but also the sacrifice they make in family life, or lack there of.   I was so honored to capture them together as a little family and look forward to photographing them together after their little boy arrives before they will be separated.  Thank you Schut’s for your sacrifice and your willingness to serve our country.  We appreciate you so much!
