closeI was able to photograph this beautiful family in May, but as Mackenna has grown, the photos need replacing! (See Here for her 6 month photos.) We toured around Elm Creek Park reserve and Mackenna had us all laughing, racing away from the camera and on to exploring the world around her. Here are some snippets from the morning that we shared.

The Addink family is near and dear to my heart. I met Nate back in college as we toured Canada together on a 8 week mission trip. Many of my team-mates from that year are still very close friends of mine. It was very cool to be able to be a part of the Addinks wedding and then Bett and I were pregnant with our first at the same time and ended up having our baby girls only 12 days apart. Now at 5, they are best friends and so much alike! We had so much fun together at Northwestern College in Roseville. Even though it was cold, the kids had a blast playing together.

I had totally forgotten the date that we were doing photos, until Hannah reminded me that Today she turned 5!! To a pre-schooler, that is a VERY big deal. So here are her 5 year old photos!
These are some of my favorites from the day, the sun was setting and the kids were just throwing rocks into the lake. I quickly threw Nate and Bett in front of them, and go this beautiful series from that. I instantly think, ahhh if all our family times were like this, i would have a dozen kids.

I photographed Coy and Melissa’s wedding almost 4 years ago and from there I have been able to be involved in some monumental moments in their lives. I have been able to photograph their oldest, Caydon, at the different stages and now I was able to meet and photograph their newest little girl. We met up at Melissa’s mom’s home and used the backyard and beautiful leaves to get some great moments of their every day lives.I can’t wait to do more as these little one’s grow!
Andria and I met in a mom’s group and I had the great privilege of getting to know her through her amazing life story and her very precious gift, Joshua. We headed out to the warehouse district of Minneapolis on one of the most beautiful Saturday’s of October yet. The Monson’s brought along their sweet doggie and Joshua brought along his ultra fast trike! The October sun is beautiful this time of year, so even at 10 in the morning we had some amazing light. Here is a small taste of the morning!
The Jensen’s have been long time friends of my family. Jim and Rhonda were my very cool youth leaders as a high schooler. I still remember when the announced that they were expecting their now 14 year old, Ellie. They have been a much needed encouragement to me in my walk with Christ. I have watched them journey through some deep water and seen the grace that the Lord has brought them through as well as the deep love and respect they have for one another. They are truly an amazing couple and family. 
We used the beautiful campus of Northwestern College in Roseville as a backdrop for their family session.
We had a wonderful time together and laughed a lot. We even chatted about this blog post…how was it Rhonda? You have a beautiful and charming family. Thanks for letting me capture a small portion of it for you!

Happy one year anniversary to you both!! What an incredible day we had, I hop your year has been just as amazing. Many blessings to you both!
Well… that sure went fast.
It feels like just yesterday we were dropping Lydia off at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, wondering what these next few years would hold for her. Today, we’re celebrating her graduation with a degree in communications.
Watching Lydia grow into such an incredible, Godly young woman has been one of the greatest gifts. Through her time serving students with Cru, she has poured so much love, encouragement, and faith into the lives of others. She leads with kindness, serves with humility, and cares for people so deeply.
We are endlessly proud of the woman she has become and so excited for this next chapter as she begins working in HR with Mayo Clinic in Wisconsin. There’s no doubt she will continue making people feel seen, valued, and cared for wherever she goes.
God has been so faithful through every step, and we can’t wait to see what He has ahead for you, Lydia.
Becoming an entrepreneur wasn’t easy. It took a lot of hard work in understanding what I wasn’t good at before understanding what I was good at. I failed a lot in the process.

We often only see the good things and success stories on social media, but getting to the point where we are confident in ourselves and our work takes time and lots of failures. Trust me. 25 years and still working at it!!
Spring at Lake Harriet gave us the dreamiest backdrop for Lindy + Arend’s engagement session. The blooms were at their absolute peak, the flowers were full and vibrant, and every corner felt like something out of a painting. These two made the whole evening feel effortless as we wandered through all the beauty that comes with Minnesota spring.
Now we’re counting down to their September wedding, when the scenery will look completely different filled with rich autumn colors and falling leaves but just as beautiful. I cannot wait to celebrate these two in a whole new season of life together!
