Katie and I met through mutual friends and it has been such a joy getting to know her. When she announced she was pregnet back in March at a friend birthday gathering, I knew she would make an incredible mommy. Over Christmas she and her husband were back in Minneapolis from Chicago, I got to meet this little sweetie and head over to do some photos for their family! Here are just a few! can’t wait to see you all again in summer and to see how this little guy is growing!

My absolute favorite image of the shoot. Check out this adorable hat Katie bought. Unfortunately Jackson was not having ANY of it. Oh well. He’s still super cute, even if he is crying!
I have had the great privilege of knowing Rebecca since college. We were able to work together again later in life at a placement company before I had Elise. In January we got together to do her daughter’s 1 year photos. Their photos needed updating because Rebecca is now expecting number 2, and Addie will be 2 shortly.
They chose the Gutherie in Minneapolis their indoor location. It was honestly perfect because the lighting was wonderful, even at 10am. Addie had a blast making new friends and exploring the very interesting floors. I would honestly recommend this location if you are in need of a cool indoor shoot this winter! It is awesome!

Yes! I absolutely love photographing this family. Not only because they are beautiful people, with beautiful children, and beautiful hearts, but because Laura is one of my very best friends. We met in 6th grade and have been together through those junior high years, graduating from high school, being separated while away at college (with very long phone conversations), watching each other get married and now being together in the adventures of parenting. I am SO utterly thankful that she and I are still able to live in the same state and get to see each other about once a month. (We are still able to have our long conversations, even if they now include screaming children in the background!)

I told Lydia that I was going to do a shoot for the Behnkens. She then asked me with her sweet little voice, “Mom, how long have you known Laura?” I responded ” A very long time.” She pondered for a moment and responded, “I hope that I can have a best friend as long for as you have had Laura.”
I am thankful that she sees the value in long time friendships and I pray that she will be able to have as good of a friend as I have in Laura as well.
Celebrating Sidney and Ryan today!!
Happy one year anniversary to you both!! What an incredible day we had, I hop your year has been just as amazing. Many blessings to you both!
Well… that sure went fast.
It feels like just yesterday we were dropping Lydia off at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, wondering what these next few years would hold for her. Today, we’re celebrating her graduation with a degree in communications.
Watching Lydia grow into such an incredible, Godly young woman has been one of the greatest gifts. Through her time serving students with Cru, she has poured so much love, encouragement, and faith into the lives of others. She leads with kindness, serves with humility, and cares for people so deeply.
We are endlessly proud of the woman she has become and so excited for this next chapter as she begins working in HR with Mayo Clinic in Wisconsin. There’s no doubt she will continue making people feel seen, valued, and cared for wherever she goes.
God has been so faithful through every step, and we can’t wait to see what He has ahead for you, Lydia.
Becoming an entrepreneur wasn’t easy. It took a lot of hard work in understanding what I wasn’t good at before understanding what I was good at. I failed a lot in the process.
.
We often only see the good things and success stories on social media, but getting to the point where we are confident in ourselves and our work takes time and lots of failures. Trust me. 25 years and still working at it!!
Spring at Lake Harriet gave us the dreamiest backdrop for Lindy + Arend’s engagement session. The blooms were at their absolute peak, the flowers were full and vibrant, and every corner felt like something out of a painting. These two made the whole evening feel effortless as we wandered through all the beauty that comes with Minnesota spring.
Now we’re counting down to their September wedding, when the scenery will look completely different filled with rich autumn colors and falling leaves but just as beautiful. I cannot wait to celebrate these two in a whole new season of life together!
If you’re recently engaged and dreaming up your own engagement session or wedding day, I’d love to connect
AWESOME!
So fun! Great shot. 🙂
LOVE this image! Such a fun fun shot! Love the joy and the cute little cheeks and toes 🙂
cute picture!
about the button, i had trouble this week too for some reason. if you are working in html, simply paste the code directly from the i heart faces homepage (buttons in the left sidebar) and then switch to visual mode. i don’t know WHY it needs this to be done but it was the only thing that worked for me. hope that helps!
So cute!
I have issues in wordpress.org with putting their code in too.
I just put it in as a picture using their html code for just the image, then relinking it to their site.
Hope that made sense. 🙂
Love the Shot! – Side Note: I use word press, and I just copied the HTML from the I heart Faces site (they give you the code) and pasted the code into the HTML tab when writing the post. I hope that helps… You can e-mail me at juliaspencer14 at gmail dot com if you have any questions
Looks like fun!
beautiful!
I used WordPress too and have had trouble with the new logos. The ones on the side bar aren’t working for me two weeks straight. I go under FAQ…find the questions that says something like “how to upload a button”…click on it and grab the button from their answer screen. It’s worked both times but I had to cut and paste it twice before it would work. Be sure to be in HTML. Helpful – hope so…I thought it was just me that had trouble!
Such a fun moment! You captured it beautifully!
This is such a fun picture. I love it : )
