The Pederson Family

I had the opportunity to head to the warmth of the Como Conservatory this weekend for some family shots.  Before it got too crowded, I was able to snap some photos of the beautiful Pederson family and their girls.  Their youngest was full of smiles and beauty, while their almost 2 year old ran around exploring the area while keeping me running.  ( I love this stage!)  Gail brought her daughter’s christening gown handcrafted with Irish antique fabric by her sister in Ireland.  I just about died from the uniqueness of this gown.  Photos do not do it justice, it was beautiful!  This family was such a joy to work with and to get to know!  Thanks for letting me into your world!

I love babies.  I  just do.  I literally go ga-ga over them.  They are so beautiful and wonderful to hold, smell, watch,  love on, and to photograph.  Even when they are crying, they are adorable.  I had the wonderful privilege of photographing this beautiful little baby girl as a part of the February promos.  She was extremely easy going and even gave her mommy a few smiles throughout the session.  I am scheduled to do another session with this wonderful family in the spring and I can not wait to see the progress this little one has made.  (She was already standing with her mommy’s help at 3 months!)  I love it!

And this is where we ended.  I thought this was an extremely sweet moment that mother and daughter were sharing.  Many hopes for more of these times to come.

    i heart faces- week 6

This week the theme is “kisses”.  Appropriate for the up and coming Valentine’s day.  I LOVE this image.  It is so funny to me watching how kids will react to their parents kissing.  I try every session to bring it into the mix, not knowing what kind of response it will bring.  This was one of those moments where I was giggling behind the lens!

    family- best of 2009

One of my very favorite times of the year is Fall.  Not only because of the beautiful colors, but because it is a time I get to re-connect with many past clients.  This year I did some mini sessions in the spring and I was able to see a few families 2 times this past year which was a treat!  I thought because I did a “Best of 2009 weddings”  I thought I’d do the same for families this year.  Here are some of my very favorite shots of the year.  Thanks to so many of you who were able to participate in these shoots!  I look forward to many more this year!

Becoming an entrepreneur wasn’t easy. It took a lot of hard work in understanding what I wasn’t good at before understanding what I was good at. I failed a lot in the process.

We often only see the good things and success stories on social media, but getting to the point where we are confident in ourselves and our work takes time and lots of failures. Trust me. 25 years and still working at it!!
