Carrie and Mark: Minneapolis engagement

It was a Saturday afternoon.  Carrie had been enjoying the day with her family while reading through bridal magazines.  Mark unexpectedly arrived and without Carrie knowing was downstairs in the family’s basement asking her parents for permission to marry their daughter.  After the big yes from her father, Mark headed upstairs to overhear Carrie and her mom discussing wedding plans.

“I wish he would just propose,” Carrie told her mother.

“When you’re ready, he’s here,” her mother replied.

Then and there, Mark got down on one knee and popped the question! It will be a great day to celebrate with this adorable couple!

    Steve and Laura: Minneapolis engagement

It was supposed to be perfect, but the engagement of Steve and Laura was just one crisis after another.

It all started on a February afternoon.  Steve had booked a fabulous cabin up North, dreaming that it would be cozy, warm and romantic.  Perfect for a proposal.  During the afternoon he got away from the accounting office that both he and Laura work at to buy all the necessities for a romantic dinner, and hid them in the trunk away from Laura to see.  After getting Laura in the car for a few hours up north they arrived at their quaint destination.

Pink wall paper, Precious moments figurines and a small room awaited them; as did the frigid Minnesota cold.  The heat had been left off and the water, which was supposed to be turned on for their arrival, was not working either.  After contacting the groundskeeper and a series of tries to get the water to turn on and successful failures, the two headed back home to Minneapolis.

By this time it was about 2 am and both were tired and hungry.  They decided to stay at Laura’s parents home ( who by this time thought that the two were going to be engaged).  Steve did not want to disappoint, and while Laura was busy bringing in the almost frozen groceries, Steve struggled around the backseat to find the ring.  In between trips to the house, Steve got down on one knee and popped the question.

Far from what he had planned, it was truly a memorable night for the two of them.

I can not wait to celebrate with this truly beautiful couple!

      Tom & Annika

It was a frigid day at North Dakota State when Annika volunteered herself to drive anyone home that needed a ride.  The Mississippi boy was the first in line!  The two got to talking and realized they lived just doors away from each other in the same building.  From the first talk in the car, to more in the building, a friendship was born.  The two just enjoyed being with each other, and over time realized that the friendship was quickly becoming more.

A few months passed and a ring was on its way to a finger.  A yes came and a November wedding is planned for this wonderful couple (hopefully with warm weather!)

I had a wonderful time getting to know these two as a couple and can not wait for their wedding!

        Fall…my favorite season

Bring on those pumpkin spice lattes, the visit to the apple orchard, pumpkin carving, fall jackets, and that beautiful golden light.  I have to say fall is among my favorite seasons (second summer, a close spring, and of course winter as being dead last).  In MN it is such a short time, so squeezing in all out favorite family activities, (and anniversary, and 4 of the 5 birthdays,) are extremely hard to do.  But we love to live up the season to its fullest.  This year on the agenda: the annual apple orchard visit, family photos (ours!), a farm visit, and school starting!  I simply can not wait to ring in the season!  Happy Autumn, and weekend!!

(One of my very favorite engagement sessions from last year; I looooovvvee the light.  Perfect and yummy!)

          Joe and Jamie: Minneapolis Engagement

When I met up with Joe and Jamie to do their engagement shoot I was so excited.  The lighting was incredible and the two of them were even better.  We strolled around Nuremberg Gardens in Wayzata for their session, and I have to be honest, I can NOT wait for their August wedding!
