So many more to come later next week. What a wonderful weekend for a February wedding. Amanda and BJ are truly amazing people. I can not wait to share more from their wedding. Here are a few to whet your palette! Enjoy and happy Wednesday!

It is always an honor when asked to photograph a wedding of a vendor that works in the business. Luda is a florist (See her web-site HERE) and we met a few years ago at a mutual friend’s wedding. Since then we have remained in contact and when she called to ask if I’d be willing to shoot her wedding, I was thrilled.
The wedding took place at Forepaughs in St. Paul. Because Luda is from Russia, she and Jon decided to have a very intimate wedding with very close friends and family. We headed toward Irvine park and down to the river front to do most of their photos.

When Luda and I were discussing the details of the day, I asked if she had any cultural items that she wanted to use as props. Because she had just come back from Russia, she brought Jon a very Russian looking hat. When I asked her if she had a cover up or jacket, I loved her reply: “Of course I’m from Russia, I have a Fur coat!”

Thank you Jon and Luda for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. Many blessings to you as you enter into marriage.
Special thinks to Joan at Forepaughs (See site HERE) in St. Paul, Jennie at the Paper Garden (See site HERE) and Andrea their wedding planner for all their help in accommodating Jon, Luda and me, as we were running all over taking photos.
i heart faces challenge this week, I wanna dance! One of my favorite times during a wedding reception is to photograph the dancers! Here is one of my all time favorites, check out this guys face next to the bride! priceless! Click HERE to see other I wanna dance photos!

Hi Karen! Just wanted to say that your blog is my lunchtime activity at school each day! I get 30 minutes, and as I eat, I always check to see your latest blog post! Question for you: Is it possible for you to link your “I heart faces” photo to the contest on their website to see other photographers’ entries? I find that website a bit difficult to navigate. Thanks for perking me up with your beautiful photos during lunch! 🙂
In 2009, Chicago was on the radar for Kevin and I. This time the entire family was able to head out to visit family and friends. Vince is actually one of Kevin’s best friends, so for me to shoot this Italian wedding was a huge honor. My girls loovved watching Amanda coming down the aisle in her princess dress and my oldest was memorized during the first dance. The couple actually headed out the following day to do some great city shots. Props to them for braving the January cold!

In 2008, Kevin and I were blessed again by this super spunky and fun couple to head out to New York City to shoot this destination wedding. I actually shot Shannon’s senior photos after graduating from high school and she promised me that one day I would be able to shoot her wedding. 5 years later, I was able to! Unfortunately, it POURED the entire day. Despite the water, we headed downtown anyway and braved the weather with umbrellas and much fun! More to come tomorrow (Yes, Shannon, this one is for you!)

Baby Mary has arrived and is already so deeply loved by Nicole and Aaron.
I’ve had the true honor of photographing this family since their oldest was born over 16 years ago, and watching their story grow through each new season has been something really special. From newborn snuggles to busy, full family life being invited back again and again is something I never take for granted.
This family is deeply rooted in the world of forage, county fairs, and raising and showing lambs and sheep, so it only felt fitting to include a little lamb hat for baby Mary’s first photos. A small nod to a big part of their life and traditions.
Welcome to the world, sweet girl
Spring soirée perfection.
Rob and Sarah’s wedding day was a beautiful blend of faith, family, and thoughtful design. Inspired by Monet’s garden paintings, their celebration was filled with soft spring colors, meaningful heirlooms, and intentional details at every turn.
After a joyful ceremony at Eagle Brook Church, surrounded by family and friends, they celebrated the night away at Silverwood Park with beautiful florals, heartfelt speeches, lakeside portraits, and dancing.
One of my favorite details? Sarah changed into her mother’s wedding dress for the reception, while flowers made from that same gown were sewn into her veil.
Congratulations, Rob and Sarah!
