Intercontinental Hotel Wedding:: Keara and Nick

When they met at a house party in ninth grade, neither Nick or Keara was even thinking of marriage.  But when fate brought them back together in 2016 while they were working out at the same gym, it became more of a possibility.  Their first date included a Wild game and time in Rice Park.  It was there they talked about their professions and love for their family.

One year later, the two headed back to Rice Park, this time Nick had another intention. He connected with both his and Keara’s family and everyone was in on the event.   Keara’s mom met her for martinis at the Saint Paul Hotel and while the girls talked, Nick gathered the families out in Rice Park by the big blue Christmas tree.  When Keara and her mother walked out of the restaurant and over to the tree, Keara found Nick on one knee with their families gathered around as Nick asked her to be his wife.

The two decided on a New Year’s Eve wedding in St. Paul at the Intercontinental Hotel. They both really wanted to spend as much time with family and friends as they could as well as take advantage of the snow and beauty of winter.

Keara wore her mother’s wedding dress that was altered by Alex from Frank Murphy and it fit her beautifully.

Keara’s gorgeous wedding ring from Kay was the perfect mix of modern meets classic.

Her bridesmaids all chose their own rose gold dresses from David’s bridal that highlighted each of their personalities.

Nick and his groomsmen all wore Tuxes and bowties from Men’s Warehouse for a classic winter look.

Hy-Vee created the beautiful classic white rose bouquets with greens as the florals for Nick and Keara’s day.

We headed over to Rice Park after their ceremony for a few night photos as the snow fell creating a fairytale like setting for all to ring in the New Year.

Friends and family danced and rang in the new year with Adan from Ambient Entertainment.

What an honor it was for me to spend the day with this kind and caring couple. Nick and Keara, thank you for allowing me to spend this last day of 2018 celebrating with you and your friends and family, it was a joy and honor!

The Lynhall Wedding:: Dan and Jody

Within the first two weeks of meeting Dan, Jody’s own fairy tale was made.  Dan surprised Jody with a surprise trip to visit him in Philadelphia.  Each and every detail from the flight to the places they went to dinner was attended to.  It was there Jody fell in love with Dan.

Only 43 days later, the couple was engaged.  Both knew what they were looking for and they had found it.  Jody and Dan love adventures and both agree that life is too short to not surprise one another and not let life pass them by.

The couple were wed at the beautiful and intimate St. Stephan’s Episcopal Church in Edina.  Dan had been attending there and had made it his home church and both he and Jody loved the intimate setting that only close family was invited to.  Jody’s Tory Burch shoes were a perfect accent to her Tadashi Shoji wedding gown. Both Dan and Jody’s rings were hand crafted by different designers.  Jody’s engagement ring was hand crafted and is a one of a kind ring designed by Denise Roberge.  Dan’s is from David Yurman Scherezada.Donato’s Floral in Maple grove put together the bouquet of rose and white blooms for Jody and a white rose for Dan’s boutonniere.Jody did her own make up for the day while Simonson’s did a loose updo for her.Jody purchased her veil and head piece from Anthropologie and it was a perfect touch for their October wedding day.The grounds of St. Stephen’s are truly beautiful.  Yellow trees and a beautiful brook behind the church made for a great location for photos.Jody and Dan invited friends and other family embers to their reception at the Lynhall in Minneapolis. The Menu ranged from butternut squash soup to roasted chicken and spiced cous cous to other autumn based dishes.Their spiced apple cinnamon cake was beautiful and created just for them by bakers at the Lynhall. What a perfect day to spend with this amazing couple. Jody and Dan, I wish you many years of love and many, many adventures together!Vendors for the day included:: Ceremony:: St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church //Reception:: The Lynhall // Hair:: Simonsons //  Florist:: Donoto’s Floral // Wedding Dress:: Tadashi Shoji from Bloomingdale’s// Rings:: Jody’s-Hand designed by Denise Roberge Dan’s David Yurman Scherezada // Baker:: The Lynhall // Stationary:: Minted// Men’s Designer:: Ralph Lauren from Macy’s // Veil and hairpiece:: Anthropologie // Earrings:: Borrowed from Jody’s best friend //

Day Block Event Center Wedding:: Megan and James

Their good friends knew they might be a good match for one another and so both invited Megan and James to their Halloween Party in 2014.  Being that they were complete opposites, something just clicked as they were both intrigued by one another.  Megan and James agreed to go on a date with one another and the rest just seemed to follow!

Three years from their first date Megan was bugging James to take her out to celebrate. He begrudgingly agreed, but Megan wasn’t aware that James had been planning the evening all night.  He played into it will and suggested that before dinner they take a walk on the Stone Arch Bridge for an anniversary picture. After taking the photo, James said “that is the before photo” and then he got down on one knee and asked Megan to marry him. Then we took our ‘after’ photo. They then went and celebrated at Murry’s (which James had been planning on) after the proposal.

Megan and James are so laid back that they wanted their guests and friends to feel the same way on their wedding day.  They choose to do a Friday wedding at Day Block Event Center right in the heart of the city they love.  Wandering around Minneapolis on a beautiful crisp September day, they were able to capture all the love they have for one another and their friends.  Photos were done in Gold Metal Park, the Gutherie and around the Mill City area.

James looked dapper in his maroon tie and navy Ryan Secrest Suit from Macy’s and all the groomsmen complimented him in their BLANK suits rented from Men’s Warehouse.Megan’s Maggie Sottero dress from the Wedding Shoppe paired perfectly with the navy colored bridesmaid dresses that each bridesmaid picked out to wear that day.Stepahnie and Amanda of Onyx Salon and Spa created beautiful up-dos and make up for Megan and her bridesmaids .Showing off their love for decorating, James and Megan put together each bouquet and bouttinere for their wedding party along with decorating each table with an array of florals from Market Flowers.Megan of Megan Mary Events helped the couple plan their amazing day and set up all their DIY decor in the event space, which was incredible! The bride even made two incredible instillations by hand that acted as a backdrop for their wedding ceremony.Texas doughnuts from Hans Bakery created the most beautiful spread of for guests and Megan and James even had their own large one to share!  Friends and Family danced the night away with music and entertainment from Jimmy of Instant Request.  Pro Sound and Light’s Photobooth was even brought in as guests were able to enjoy a photo to remember the evening with.Because both Megan and James love Mexican food, it wasn’t surprising that they had a taco bar, chips and queso, and Margaratias as their speciality drink from Acapulco Mexican Resturant.

Megan and James, your day was perfect, and I was honored to share in it with you!  Thanks for making it so much fun and congratulations!!
