Just a few sneaks from the weekend!

Baby Rebecca

Dare I say it again, I just love babies! And I love photographing them in their environment! One of my very good friends delivered Olive on Christmas Eve, and after the holiday’s I was able to go and meet this little peanut. Trish and I were art majors together and I was so inspired by the way she decorated the nursery. Her husband also painted a piece for Olive before she was born, and after a few attempts, we were able to get a happy, warm baby to lay on the precious piece! I am looking forward to watching this little one grow into a beautiful girl.

They were neighbors at Taylor College for years. He finally asked her out on their first date which was a walk around Lake Calhoun, the place where he also proposed.
Everyone was in on the secret but Kristin. Being that her family had a love for photography and video, her parents were in the perfect location and perfectly hidden to video the final letter that Kristin received as she had been walking around the lake. From there, Kevin got down on one knee and asked the question, and it was all caught on video. (What wonderful footage their children will be able to see!)
This was the perfect way to end my 2010 season, and what better day than New Year’s Eve. The day was perfectly wintery for photos, and the laid back wedding party was awesome at braving the cold wind and weather. I was so blessed to be a part of this day. Kevin and Kristin, you are a beautiful couple, many blessings to you both as you start your lives together.

I really enjoy the wedding pictures of my nephew Kevin and new niece Kristin. I’d love to see others you’ve done. Anxious to see the family photos at church and learn how to order some.
Thanks, Claudia
It wasn’t rare to fine the two of them in the laundry room together, folding laundry or doing homework. In a two bedroom apartment filled with 5 college aged girls, it was hard to find any place that was quiet for a long period of time. And an apartment filled with 5 guys was was just out of the question. So they met in the laundry room. I’m pretty sure dates progressed over the course of months, but I knew that when the phone rang for Abbey and she was missing, I could usually find here there with her “friend” Brandon.
I was one of those five college roommates, and was also fortunate enough to get to know Abbey my freshman year of college. I have to say that over the years, she has become such a sweet friend to me, and I have marveled in the way her and Brandon do life, ministry and marriage together. When Brandon called to ask if I would be included in a gift to Abbey to celebrate their anniversary, I was thrilled. I love you both so much, and can not wait to see what 2011 brings you! I just know it is gonna be a good one.

The Best of awards is presented to Minnesota wedding vendors in mid summer. An evening where wedding vendors swap stories and catch up with other professionals in the field. Last year was the first year I was able to attend, and I just had a blast. It was so great to see professionals that I had not seen for a while and mingle at the Carlson Towers Rotunda. It is that time of year again. The time clients get to choose the best vendors in Minnesota to represent their field. I would so love it, if you have a free minute, that you would vote for the vendors that you appreciated or have appreciated so far. Thanks in advance for thinking of me and I can’t wait to share more as the time comes closer! See HERE for ballot (you actually only have to fill out 6 vendors for the ballot to go through).
From their engagement session, to their wedding, to the birth of their first daughter and now to their second, it’s been a joy and honor to be able to photograph couples like the Wargo’s as their life changes.
It’s what makes my job so meaningful and fulfilling! Congratulations Hannah and Jake, your family is beautiful!
Including siblings in your newborn session… yes or no?
My answer is always yes.
It might feel a little chaotic in the moment, but those are often the images you end up treasuring the most—the real connection, the tiny interactions, the beginning of a new family story.
I’ve loved watching the Luong family grow through all three of their children’s newborn sessions, and those sibling moments are always some of my favorites.
If you’re wondering how it all works (and how we make it easy), I wrote a full blog post about it! Check it out in my stories

Beautiful photo of Carrie and Michael! You really captured the mood of the day – I can’t wait to see the rest of the shots.
Beautiful! You are so talented!
