Dan & Laura:: The Firehouse Chicago Wedding

The two met while working at the Apple store in Chicago. Both being from the midwest, they just clicked.  Not that Dan and Laura were anything alike, Dan being very logical and Laura more artistic with a bohemian flair. But maybe it was just that.  They complimented each other well and balanced one another out, and that is exactly what led Dan to propose to Laura.  While woking on the garden plot the two share in the city, Dan asked Laura to be his wife, and they two set out to planning their September Chicago wedding.

Because the wedding held lots of out of town guests, Laura and Dan wanted a smaller outdoor venue where they could mingle with friends.  They found the Firehouse in the Edgewater neighborhood to be the perfect mix of historic architecture along with a boho vintage flair.  Vines trellised around the building which was centered in the middle of a beautiful Chicago neighborhood that their wedding party perused together for photos before the ceremony. After their beautiful outdoor ceremony at dusk, guests were given appetizers from a local Chicago restaurant, which consisted of their favorite foods, Indian, Mexican, and German.  Signature drinks with whisky, Dan’s favorite, were at the bar.  Laura’s bouquets and flower crowns were from local flower gardens and her grandmother had brought in Zinnias from her Iowa farm that Katie from Art Farm Blooms incorporated into the organic bouquets and table arrangements.  The bridesmaids chose their own dresses from Zara and All Saints, to compliment Laura’s Amanda Archer Romance gown made by Mignoette Bridal and her John Fluevog shoes.  The couple was introduced as Laura slid down the fire pole and took off her veil to a floral crown of her own and danced to the tunes pulled together by Toast and Jams.

It was an gorgeous day to spend with these two amazing people and their guests.  I was so honored to be a part of it and hope that your honeymoon to Ireland is incredible!

Corey & Kelsie:: Courtyards of Andover Wedding

Moving and going out to Mankato State University, neither of them were looking for one another, but that is exactly how Corey and Kelsie ended up with each other!  While working a side job at CVS Pharmacy, Corey and Kelsie’s paths crossed and it wasn’t long after the two began dating.  Both knew it was serious after three months and Corey began plans in asking Kelsie to be his wife.

One beautiful afternoon, the two decided to head to Minnehaha Falls in Minnneapolis.  Corey suggested they go to the bottom to get a better view and when they reached the base of the waterfall, he got down on one knee and asked Kelsie to be his wife.

Their September wedding day at The Courtyards of Andover was gorgeous. Kelsie wore a Stella York dress with JJ House purple shoes to match the decor of the day.  The eggplant David’s Bridal bridesmaid dresses were elegant and stunning on each of the bridesmaids.

It was such an honor to be able to photograph Kelsie and Corey.  Kelsie and I grew up in the same church and I was fortunate enough to be one of her youth leaders when I was in college and she was in high school.  Seeing her family and friends were such a blessing, but being able to witness and meet Corey as her husband was an even greater gift. I couldn’t have asked for a better fall day to spend with these two kind people and their wedding party.  Kelsie and Corey, thank you of allowing me to be a part of your wedding day.  I wish you much joy and happiness for years to come!

Matt & Jenny:: Territory Golf Club Wedding

When Jenny and Matt were set up by their co-worker and friend, neither one of them imagined that they would end up together. It was no surprise to many that the competitive hockey player and figure skater would make a good match, it was pure Cutting Edge style and the two fit the parts almost perfectly! After dating for a few years, Matt took Jenny to Jax Cafe and proposed,  then took her on a European vacation to celebrate!

Their September wedding day was incredible.  The two decided on a Friday wedding, so that their out of state friends and family would be able to enjoy the long holiday weekend and stay to celebrate more.  We ventured around the area of St. Cloud for photographs and ended at the Territory Golf Club where the two were married on the green late in the afternoon.   The evening was filled with laughter and kindness as the two emanated that to all around them.  Thank you Jenny and Matt for allowing me to be a part of your day, you are both beautiful people inside and out!

Kenny & Jamie:: Backyard Farm Wedding

Being friends for many years and working at Target together, it was no surprise to family and friends that Kenny and Jamie would soon be together.  Complete opposites, the two were drawn to each other, and after a few years of dating they both knew that they were destined to be together.

One evening, after Jamie had spent the entire day cleaning and was in her grubby clothes, Kenny created a nice dinner for the two of them. He called her to dinner and before Jamie knew what was happening, Kenny was down one one knee asking her to be his wife.

Their wedding day was small an intimate and held outdoors on the property where Jamie grew up.  Being incredibly personal to Jamie, she was able to be photographed with the horses that she had owned since she was a young girl and feel the presence and memories of he mother who had passed away a few years ago.  With Kenny’s amazing skills of carpentry, he transformed the pole barn into a reception venue, creating everything from the lighting, to the carpet on the ground, to the wood centerpieces that held the vases of flowers.  The Minnesota day was forecasted for a slight rain, but nothing stopped the two from being outside and they were rewarded with an incredible sunset. The couple invited only family members to the ceremony while other friends showed up for the reception later in the evening.

Jamie and Kenny, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your amazing day.  It was a gift and blessing to me to see the love you have for one another as well as your family and friends.  I felt like I have gained new friends, and for you I am grateful!  Happy Wedding day!!

Oak Marsh Wedding:: Hannah and Michael

When these two high school sweethearts met, they didn’t realize that they would be together through high school, college, and Michael’s military training, but through all of these events, one thing has been clear to them; they were meant to be together.  Right after Christmas, Michael took Hannah to one of her favorite places in St. Paul, Rice Park. After skating, and strolling through the streets, Michael took her to a secluded location, got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife forever.  With tears in her eyes, Hannah said a resounding yes, and their love story continues.

I just knew from their engagement session that their wedding day would be absolutely incredible, and it was! The weather could not have been more perfect filled with amazing family and friends.  Hannah’s favorite color of pink (and in various shades!, was in all the decor from the linens to the dresses too the flowers.  It was an honor to spend this day with the both of you!  Best wishes as you walk this new road of married life together!
