Minneapolis Maternity Session:: Playford Family

The soft summer light cast golden hues across the landscape of the park that Christy and Kyle chose to take their maternity photos at. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first baby, a son, Christy wore a perfect emerald green dress that highlighted her eyes and stood out against the golden hues.

The lake was perfectly still and as we finished their session, I knew I must get a silhouette against the setting sun, a perfect end to a beautiful day. Congratulations to you Christy and Kyle

    Otsego Smash Cake Session:: Ties Family

    Is your baby turning one? There is no better way to celebrate than bringing out a beautiful cake in front of them, and watching what will happen! Honestly you never know what you are going to get… they may thrust their hands down deep and pull up frosting, or they may tentatively touch it and back away at the fact that they were getting dirty!

    It was so fun to see the Ties family again. Not only did we get a few family photos in, but we saw Everly thoroughly enjoy her cake, along with Kato who cleaned up after she was finished!

      Edina Family Session:: Franks Family

      I had the honor of photographing Mike and Nicki’s wedding a few years ago, so you can imagine how excited I was when they asked if I would do a mini session of their first son. Born in the spring, we had to capture him among the blooms of the season.

      Just as the trees had begun raining their beautiful, fragrant blooms to the earth, we captured the newness of life as it also came to the earth!

      What a blessing to see families like the Franks throughout so many wonderful seasons of life!

        Janell and Pawan:: backyard Edina wedding

        “Hey there, what’s next on your travel bucket list?” Pawan asked Jenell as his opening line when the two connected online.

        Faroe Islands was Janell’s response and the two began a conversation about it on their first date. Never in a million years, would Jenell envision that when that trip finally did come for the two of them, Pawan would end the entire trip on the top of a mountain with a ring in his hand asking Jenell to be his wife.

        The adventuring partners moved forward in planning their 2020 wedding, but everything came to a screeching halt when Covid hit. With Pawan’s family in India and Jenell’s father terminally ill, the couple made the hard decision to move forward with their plans and get married in their backyard on a beautiful August day. Surrounded by the family that could make it and a few friends, Jenell and Pawan were wed. Family from India watched via Zoom and the incredible intimacy of the day created memories to last a lifetime.

        Jenell’s stunning dress from Che Bella was perfect for the backyard wedding. Paired with the beautiful florals from Ink and Ivy Designs, the colors popped against the August greens. Pawan’s gray suit from Milbern Clothing Company was a perfect touch of sophistication and elegance. The intimacy and love that Jenell and Pawan exuded was apparent to all who witnessed them get married. It was a joy and honor to be a part of their incredible day. Congratulations!

          Edina family:: Larsen family

          Having three kiddos is not easy, but Lauren and Josiah made it look like there was nothing to it!

          I met them at the incredible Arneson Acres (one of my all time favorite places to shoot) and once there, we wandered the gardens laughing, playing and taking a few photos in between!

          We had to capture individuals of all the kiddos and even little Stian gave us a few smiles.

          We ended at the fountain and the kids splashed and found games to play with one another and getting each other wet in the mean time! What a fabulous day it was and I am so thankful for families like the Larsen’s.
