i heart faces- week 6

This week the theme is “kisses”.  Appropriate for the up and coming Valentine’s day.  I LOVE this image.  It is so funny to me watching how kids will react to their parents kissing.  I try every session to bring it into the mix, not knowing what kind of response it will bring.  This was one of those moments where I was giggling behind the lens!

  • Love the daughter face. That is exactly how my son is when we kiss. This is a great photo!!

starting off slow

Today was one of those days that I just wanted to stay all nestled up in my cozy warm house and just enjoy the warmth of it all.  (Thus, NOW I am posting this blog entry).  My intentions were good.  Last night I had high hopes of getting up early, working out and coming home to run errands and get ready for the weekend.  That just did not happen.

I did get up early, like 5, because Ben was beckoning us to get him out of bed.  But when I looked out the window, there was no way I was going anywhere.  The snow that had started last night, continued falling and still is.  Instead of working out at the Y, we headed outside to play and enjoy the beauty of the fresh fallen snow.

And I’m still drinking my morning coffee!

Have a great (warm) weekend!

Just a side note; my 5 year old insists on wearing a hat that she wore when she was a toddler.  I think it is so annoying.  Picking and choosing my battles these days!

    MN Bride

So I have to be honest… I was floored when I recied an e-mail from the editor of MN bride stating that she not only wanted to use one wedding, but two weddings for the Spring/ Summer 2010 edition.  It is a huuuggge honor for me.  Kinda like the golden globes of wedding photography, (well this IS much smaller) but to be recognized in this way was so encouraging to me.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to all my couples from 2009.  I wish the magazine was large enough to publish all your beautiful weddings, they each deserve special recognition for the amount of time and energy spent making them so beautiful!

(Sorry about the quality of the images, I guess my scanner’s quality is not the best!)

    family- best of 2009

One of my very favorite times of the year is Fall.  Not only because of the beautiful colors, but because it is a time I get to re-connect with many past clients.  This year I did some mini sessions in the spring and I was able to see a few families 2 times this past year which was a treat!  I thought because I did a “Best of 2009 weddings”  I thought I’d do the same for families this year.  Here are some of my very favorite shots of the year.  Thanks to so many of you who were able to participate in these shoots!  I look forward to many more this year!

      • So fun! Great shot. 🙂

      • LOVE this image! Such a fun fun shot! Love the joy and the cute little cheeks and toes 🙂

      • cute picture!

about the button, i had trouble this week too for some reason. if you are working in html, simply paste the code directly from the i heart faces homepage (buttons in the left sidebar) and then switch to visual mode. i don’t know WHY it needs this to be done but it was the only thing that worked for me. hope that helps!

      • So cute!
I have issues in wordpress.org with putting their code in too.
I just put it in as a picture using their html code for just the image, then relinking it to their site.
        Hope that made sense. 🙂

      • Love the Shot! – Side Note: I use word press, and I just copied the HTML from the I heart Faces site (they give you the code) and pasted the code into the HTML tab when writing the post. I hope that helps… You can e-mail me at juliaspencer14 at gmail dot com if you have any questions

      • Looks like fun!

      • I used WordPress too and have had trouble with the new logos. The ones on the side bar aren’t working for me two weeks straight. I go under FAQ…find the questions that says something like “how to upload a button”…click on it and grab the button from their answer screen. It’s worked both times but I had to cut and paste it twice before it would work. Be sure to be in HTML. Helpful – hope so…I thought it was just me that had trouble!

      • Such a fun moment! You captured it beautifully!

      • This is such a fun picture. I love it : )
