Minneapolis Engagement Session:: Jenny and Kyle

Jenny, a high school history teacher and lover of travel and Washington DC, knew that the trip she and Kyle were taking last spring was going to be amazing. She had planned to take Kyle to all her favorite places along the National Mall.

Along the way, the two stopped at a bench amongst all the cherry blossoms and a beautiful festival going on. Kyle turned to Jenny, rather seriously, and started talking about their future together. Jenny was completely stunned when amidst sentences, Kyle asked her to be his wife. She of course said yes, and the two celebrated amongst the blossoms and the rest of their trip.

We decided to do their engagement session in early January so they could have a mix of winter and summer photos. Jenny and Kyle chose two of their favorite destinations, Nicolette Island Pavillion and the Minneapolis Rose Gardens on Lake Harriet where we even took to the ice for some photos!

Jenny and Kyle are planning to wed at the beautiful and historic Minneapolis Club in late July. I simply can not wait to celebrate with them!

Boom Island Engagement Session:: Robert and Rachel

Rachel and Robert have been high school sweethearts, so it was no surprise to anyone that they would be getting married. It was only a matter of time! Mid fall Robert decided to take Rachel up to one of their favorite places in Minnesota, the North Shore. He sneakily had his good friend and sisters in on the plan and they drove up ahead of him and Rachel and headed to the scoped out area they had talked about.

It was a cold and rainy day and Robert suggested taking a walk. Rachel wasn’t super interested in it but she was happy to be with Robert and the two set out.

As they walked, Robert kept his calm and conversation until they stopped at a beautiful location mid walk. He then got down on one knee and asked Rachel to be his wife. His friends, hidden in the bushes, snapped photos of Rachel saying yes, and then they all popped out to congratulate them!

Bunker Hills Engagement Session:: Lizzy and Ryan

Fall in Minnesota is absolutely stunning and because it really only lasts about 6 weeks in Minnesota, carving out time for sessions is hard to come by! Lizzy and Ryan were just about up for anything. After meeting to chat about their wedding day and chatting about their hectic schedules, we all settled on a sunrise session at the beautiful Bunker Hills Park.

They met me just as the sun was rising and walking through the fields of color was glorious.

We laughed a lot and had a great time getting to know each other even better. I am looking forward to photographing them again in September of 2020!

Mn Landscape Arboretum Engagement Session:: Jake & Hannah

Jake and Hannah met while in college together in South Dakota. At the small school they were at, they passed each other regularly until one day Jake started making conversation with Hannah. The rest is history, and in June the two will tie the knot. I simply can not wait.

From the first time I met with these two, I knew we were a good fit. Sarcastic, funny and kind-hearted both Hannah and Jake were easy to talk to and made me feel like I was chatting with long time friends.

We wandered the MN Landscape Arboretum one fall day and as the weather had been on the verge of rain all day, not one drop fell and we had almost the entire park to ourselves! At the end we even had about 5 minutes of an incredible sunset that we happened to be in just the right place at the right time!

Jake and Hannah, I can not wait to spend your wedding day with you!!

Boom Island Park Engagement Session:: Brandon and Celeste

When Celeste e-mailed me asking if I was available for a fall engagement session in Northeast Minneapolis, I couldn’t say no! She and Brandon will be married in Pennsylvania, where Celeste is from, this summer, but they wanted to capture Minneapolis and who they are here.

We choose Boom Island Park and Indeed Brewery in Minneapolis for their locations. A brisk fall evening welcomed us along with the hughes of the season.

We started at Indeed and walked around the urban area for a while finding great white and black walls along with the perfect receiving doc for photos (anyone up for a wedding here?!)

We then made our way to the beautiful Boom Island Park where they brought out their pooch and we were able to capture the beautiful Minneapolis skyline!

Congratulations Celeste and Brandon, I know your day will be spectacular!
