One correction, Karen. The reception was at the Medina Golf and Country Club, not the Medina Ballroom. The photos are great – I love them.

Kristin and Kevin: Minneapolis wedding

They were neighbors at Taylor College for years.  He finally asked her out on their first date which was a walk around Lake Calhoun, the place where he also proposed.

Everyone was in on the secret but Kristin.  Being that her family had a love for photography and video, her parents were in the perfect location and perfectly hidden to video the final letter that Kristin received as she had been walking around the lake.  From there, Kevin got down on one knee and asked the question, and it was all caught on video.  (What wonderful footage their children will be able to see!)

This was the perfect way to end my 2010 season, and what better day than New Year’s Eve.  The day was perfectly wintery for photos, and the laid back wedding party was awesome at braving the cold wind and weather.  I was so blessed to be a part of this day.  Kevin and Kristin, you are a beautiful couple, many blessings to you both as you start your lives together.

I really enjoy the wedding pictures of my nephew Kevin and new niece Kristin. I’d love to see others you’ve done. Anxious to see the family photos at church and learn how to order some.
    Thanks, Claudia

Kristin and Kevin: Details of a Minneapolis wedding

It is an honor for me to work with so many great brides and grooms.  Normally I am approached by the bride or the groom based on a referral, but for Kristin and Kevin’s wedding I was approached by Kristin’s parents to shoot their youngest daughter’s wedding.   Chuck and his wife are actually videographers that I have worked with here and there for the last 5 years or so.  Among all the photographers they work with in the Cities, they came to me first to see if I would photograph the wedding.  I was completely honored, especially since their oldest daughter, Kimmie,  is a photographer too!  It was a great day and I was fortunate enough to have plenty of back up as Chuck had his crew along and as there were other wonderful photographers there shooting with me!  We also worked with some fabulous vendors on this New Year’s eve wedding!  More to come tomorrow!

Bearpath held the reception and getting ready photos.

Beyond the Garden brought in the colorful flowers for the day.

Prairie Party Rentals brought in the hanging balls and decorations at the reception.

Jewelry for Kristin was the stunning Epiphany

Kristin’s shoes were dyed orange especially for Kevin, who loves the color orange!

Kristin’s dress was beautiful on the hanger, and stunning on her!

    Will and Amy: Minneapolis wedding

When she said she wanted snow, I don’t think she was hoping for a foot in 4 hours!  But that is exactly what Will and Amy got for their December 11th wedding.  Nevertheless, they were both completely content and excited to be getting married.  We tried to get a few outdoor shots, but the shock of the wind was almost overwhelming, so we stuck inside for many of the photos.  I was thrilled to find a bunch of different locations around the inside that got some great natural light, and worked with the for a few minutes to capture just what their wedding day weather really was.

And after a sweet day of shooting, home sweet home, and the view from my front window! ( I can’t remember this much snow falling in a long time!)

It was a pleasure working with you both, many of God’s richest blessings to you as you walk the road together.

A beautiful wedding for two of the nicest people and such fabulous creative pictures!!!

Will and Amy details of a Minneapolis wedding

She was hoping for snow, and she got it in true Minnesota fashion!  December 11th was truly a day to remember not only for the blizzard conditions, but for the wedding of Will and Amy.  They were such troopers and so were their fabulous vendors.  It was a true winter wonderland and it was beautiful.

Amy’s dress was from David’s Bridal, and it was stunning on her.

Will’s mother, who has her own line of jewelry, made the bridesmaids and Amy’s jewelry.

Men’s Warehouse held the tuxes that Will and his Groomsmen wore.

Forever Floral created all the floral arrangements for the day.

The Ladies dresses were from David’s bridal as well, and they fit well with the winter wonderland day.

Jared’s at in the Galleria created Will’s ring and Amy’s ring was created by Boone and Son’s Jewelers in Washington DC.

    storkie.com created the invites.

The Reception was held at Shoreview Community Center and was the snowiest I had seen it in years!

One of Amy’s bridesmaids works as a cake designer for Queen of Cakes in Edina.  I have seen some fabulous cakes come out of the place.  This wedding was no exception.  Will’s cake (because he works for Delta)  was decorated with airplanes.  It was great!

I loved what Amy and Will did for their reception.  They had a hot chocolate bar equipped with all the fixins as well as Christmas cookies.  It felt so cozy and was perfect for the snowy weather.

I also just loved all the details that created the warm feel of the reception.  Everything from the ornaments next to the place cards to the favor of hot chocolate to take home.  It was a beautiful day.

More to come tomorrow of this wonderful couple!
