7 VinesVineyard Wedding in Stillwater, MN | Here’s what I love about it

If you’re dreaming of a romantic vineyard wedding in Minnesota, 7 Vines Vineyard is one of the most beautiful and sought-after venues near Stillwater. Known for its rolling vineyards, panoramic views, and upscale, intimate feel, it’s the perfect setting for couples who want a refined yet relaxed wedding day.

Why couples (and I) love 7 Vines Vineyard

Surrounded by lush vineyards and open skies, 7 Vines offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony options, giving couples flexibility no matter the season. The pergola with a louvered canopy creates a stunning ceremony backdrop, while the elegant indoor space is perfect for receptions.

Ceremony indoor and outdoor options

One of the biggest advantages of a 7 Vines Vineyard wedding is the variety of spaces. You can host your ceremony outdoors overlooking the vines or move inside for a more intimate setting. The indoor space is bright, modern, and perfect for hosting dinner and dancing.

  • Plan on sunset photos in the vineyard, I promise you will not be disappointed

Josh & Olivia:: Red Wing Wedding

Love always comes when you least expect it and for Josh and Olivia that was exactly the case. The nurse who was enjoying life did not expect to meet the 911 dispatcher, but it was just the way these two met one another when Josh asked Olivia to Cat Coffee. They ended up talking until the shop closed and both knew that this would be something more than just a coffee date.

After dating for four years, July 31st came around and Josh knew that it was the day to propose. Because the two love taking photos of their adventures together, Josh put together a grouping of Polariad’s taken from the dates the two had gone on together through the years and used them as clues to get Olivia on the scavenger hunt of her life. He started with the first clue at the couples parents homes. The second clue was at Cat Cafe. The third at United Hospital where they both work, and the last and final clue brought Olivia to an airport in Crystal. The couple jumped on a plane, and flew to Duluth where Olivia’s aunt (who was working closely with Josh on the proposal) set up a beautiful picnic inside Enger Park in Duluth. When the couple arrived, Josh got down on one knee and asked Olivia to marry him!

Olivia and Josh really wanted a winter wedding and because of that knew that their wedding day would look a little different because of Covid restrictions. They decided to do a small and intimate wedding with only family and a few friends present. They rented a beautiful VRBO in Red Wing and were wed in a small white church in the country on one of the coldest day’s of the year.

It was beautiful day for a wedding and both Josh and Olivia were so easy going and went back in forth inside and out, even though the temps were below freezing. We were able to capture so much of this historic Red Wing site with its beauty and grace. Olivia’s bridesmaids, all family, wore dusty blue dresses and carried sprigs of green, white and blue in their bouquets while Olivia wore a simple white dress with capped sleeves and a lace back.

Josh and Olivia, thank you for including me in your day. It was beautiful, congratulations!

        Champagne… not just for drinking

One of my very favorite things brides have asked about recently are champagne shots! Not only do they make for great wedding party photos, but awesome expression shots! If you decide to bring champagne and use it for photos here are a few tips::

        1. Buy the cheapest bottles, they are usually more fizzy and really all you are doing is shaking the bottle and letting it fly.
        2. Try, if you can, to do this shot after the ceremony. Typically champagne flies everywhere and with that it goes everywhere! The last time a bride did this with me, champagne went all over me and a few of the bridesmaids!
        3. Bring a few bottles. Chances are the first bottle won’t work as well as you hoped, and better to have another bottle to have more fun with
        4. Hype up the photo! Typically I prompt the wedding party to yell and shout as the couple is opening the bottle. Makes for great shots and really a LOT of laughter!
        5. Try to have the groom open the bottle. Brides, you probably don’t want to get anything on your dress, so stand back and let him do the work!

Just some tips for such great fun photos!
