How to plan your Insta posts

This past fall, as many of you know, I hired a social media manager to manage my Instagram and Facebook accounts.  Susan was incredible, and I hired her through my busiest season for help, but what about this off season?  Now that she isn’t working for me I still want to manage my social accounts but not be tied to them when my kids are home.  SO… I looked into a few different scheduling systems.  If you are looking for something to help you plan and look through, these are the tree I considered.  Which one am I using…. read on!!

Buffer:: This is the system that Susan and I started with.  From the little I know about it, Buffer is a system to plan both your Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter feeds.  It was great because we could each see what Susan was planning and if I needed to post anything, I could see what was planned!

Plann:: This was a system Susan suggested to me and I loved the way you were able to plan out the entirety of the month and see how all the squares would look when everything was put together. And I loved that you could put hashtags into categories so that they were all there for later use. The only thing I did not love about this was that it was only applicable for phones and tablets, and I was looking for a system that I could use with my desktop

Cue in Planoly:: Now this is the system that I have been using. There is a desktop customization, an app for my phone and has the hashtag categorization system.  I have been using it for almost 2 months now, and I am in love with this!  When I need to post something, I get a notification on my phone, and the rest is done for me.

If you are looking for a system to streamline your planning process for Instagram, I would check these out to see which is right for you!

University of Northwestern Wedding:: Karla & Tim

Their friends and family were scheming.  They both knew Karla and Tim would be good for each other, but had to get them to go on a first date together.  After some coaxing from Karla’s mother and her good friends, Karla agreed to officially go out with the man she had know about through mutual friends, but never really known.  The two went out and hit it off.  Connecting through Bible Study and knowing they both didn’t want to wait long, the two were engaged!!

Their winter wedding at the University of Northwestern was absolutely beautiful.  From the navy Macy’s dresses, to the eucalyptus, baby’s breath and pinecone bouquets, to the individualized Coke and Diet Coke bottles on the tables for guests; everything about this wedding spoke of Karla and Tim. After a week of frigid temps and terrible weather conditions, the couple got one incredible day filled with sunshine and lots of laughter with friends.

I was so honored to be able to be a part of this wedding and I wish you both so much joy and happiness as you enter into this beautiful relationship of marriage together!

Tom & Cassie:: 413 on Wacouta

They passed each other on the first day of college at the U of M.  Tom’s dad watched his son’s head turn toward the pretty blonde girl as he helped move her in.  In his quiet way, Tom’s thoughts were rolling and it was only “chance” that one day the two of them were outside of their dorm at the same time in the Minneapolis cold when they struck up a conversation.  Both English majors, they quickly realized how many classes they could have tougher and a friendship had begun!  Years later, Tom proposed to Cassie who quickly answered yes!

With spring you never know what kind of weather you will get.  When I met with Cassie and Tom to chat about their wedding day we were all envisioning slushy and cold.  Surprisingly we were mistaken and got one incredible April day to celebrate their intimate exchange of vows.  The 413 on Wacouta is such a romantic, beautiful building set in the heart of St. Paul.  With so many places nearby, I was able to capture Cassie and Tom and their families perfectly. It was a beautiful day and I so loved getting to know this kind couple and their families!
