Kenny & Jamie:: Backyard Farm Wedding

Being friends for many years and working at Target together, it was no surprise to family and friends that Kenny and Jamie would soon be together.  Complete opposites, the two were drawn to each other, and after a few years of dating they both knew that they were destined to be together.

One evening, after Jamie had spent the entire day cleaning and was in her grubby clothes, Kenny created a nice dinner for the two of them. He called her to dinner and before Jamie knew what was happening, Kenny was down one one knee asking her to be his wife.

Their wedding day was small an intimate and held outdoors on the property where Jamie grew up.  Being incredibly personal to Jamie, she was able to be photographed with the horses that she had owned since she was a young girl and feel the presence and memories of he mother who had passed away a few years ago.  With Kenny’s amazing skills of carpentry, he transformed the pole barn into a reception venue, creating everything from the lighting, to the carpet on the ground, to the wood centerpieces that held the vases of flowers.  The Minnesota day was forecasted for a slight rain, but nothing stopped the two from being outside and they were rewarded with an incredible sunset. The couple invited only family members to the ceremony while other friends showed up for the reception later in the evening.

Jamie and Kenny, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your amazing day.  It was a gift and blessing to me to see the love you have for one another as well as your family and friends.  I felt like I have gained new friends, and for you I am grateful!  Happy Wedding day!!

Oak Marsh Wedding:: Hannah and Michael

When these two high school sweethearts met, they didn’t realize that they would be together through high school, college, and Michael’s military training, but through all of these events, one thing has been clear to them; they were meant to be together.  Right after Christmas, Michael took Hannah to one of her favorite places in St. Paul, Rice Park. After skating, and strolling through the streets, Michael took her to a secluded location, got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife forever.  With tears in her eyes, Hannah said a resounding yes, and their love story continues.

I just knew from their engagement session that their wedding day would be absolutely incredible, and it was! The weather could not have been more perfect filled with amazing family and friends.  Hannah’s favorite color of pink (and in various shades!, was in all the decor from the linens to the dresses too the flowers.  It was an honor to spend this day with the both of you!  Best wishes as you walk this new road of married life together!

      Monday sneaks

Hello Monday and back to the blog.  It has been a while since I have last posted, mainly because summer has been crazy at the Feder home.  It is the first year that I have not hired a nanny to watch my kids and it has left my head has been spinning since.  Thankfully they are old enough to play alone and we have the soccer field across the street for their activities, but it has still been crazy.

If you are a loyal blog follower, thank you.  My goal in this next month is to post more. More thoughts, more content and more life.  Unfortunately the chaos can overcome the business, but I am trying so hard to maintain order and structure to our days (some unsuccessfully), so stick with me, and I can promise you more content in these dog days of summer!

        Taylor & Jenna:: Bayview Wedding

It was the year 2000. At Eden Prairie High School, one sweet (and amazing) sophomore trumpet player noticed another senior trumpet player in class. By the time summer came and the long awaited band camp happened, Jenna’s crush on Taylor had come to fruition and the two awkwardly danced together on the last night of camp.  It also started a spark in both of them.  The two continued through college together and their love for the arts, traveling, and adventure brought them to skydiving, Croatia and many concerts at the Minnesota Orchestra.

Taylor knew that he wanted to make Jenna his wife and one day decided to leave work early and stopped at Patisserie 46 for French macaroons and and a bottle of chardonnay.  He put it on ice and waited until she arrived home. Unsuspecting anything, Jenna walked into her home with her favorite classical music playing in the background and an assortment of wine and treats waiting for her on their deck.  Of course she answered yes and the two enjoyed a beautiful evening and a walk to their favorite pizza place, Detello’s for dinner.

Their wedding day held plenty of joy with friends and family as well as being incredibly hot, but made for a gorgeous day. (It was about 60 degrees warmer than their engagement session!!) Jenna’s Aiden Mattox dress was stunning as she walked down the aisle and held handmade paper flowers she and her bridesmaids in J Crew Dresses had created because she was allergic to flowers. The two incorporated their love for music into their ceremony with classic pieces like The Swan and Arabesque No 1.  The reception was held at Bayview on Lake Minnetonka while they hosted chardonnay and danced with some awkwardness to reenact their first dance as high schoolers at band camp!

Jenna and Taylor, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day.  You are both amazing kind and loving people and I wish you so much happiness and love in life.

WOW! These pictures are amazing, and less than a week after the Wedding. The joy Jenna and Taylor felt on their Wedding Day has been captured. I love the beginning highlights of their courtship and the variety of pictures. Such a beautiful story in pictures of their special day.

        Grace for today

        This week!

It is one of transition and crazy for me. Kids are home from school on summer break, activities are in full swing, I have sessions to edit and social calendars to manage. Let me be honest with you… I am just plain tired. I am behind in my editing and my house is needing a good clean. But friends let me tell you, if there is one thing that I am learning in this season of life, it is giving grace to myself, my calendar, and my kids. I don’t always have to have the picked up house, activities will slip through the cracks and I may not make the deadlines I create for my work life. But I am getting things done, loving on my kids, and am determined to enjoy each day to the fullest, even if it does last until 1 am!!
So how are you doing today? Are you giving yourself grace?
