Bunker Hills:: Engagement Session

When I booked Tom and Emilie’s engagement session this past winter, I knew I would be excited for spring. Because they wanted a more natural and relaxed vibe for their photos and were wanting some place close to them, we chose the beautiful Bunker Hills Park location. This spring has been so back and forth with weather that we actually lucked out with a pleasant and beautiful spring evening.

We began the session in the fields surrounding the park and then found a few trees that were in full bloom. The sun decided to peak out at just the right moment creating such a warm and serene glow for the photos. We then wandered down to a bridge that held tall grasses and created a perfect backdrop for the feel Emilie and Tom were going for. Both Emilie and Tom chose pastel colors for their outfits that photographed well with the spring colors. We had such a great time together and chatted a lot throughout the session.

It has been so great getting to know Emilie and Tom through the wedding planning process. The two will be wed at Immaculate heart of Mary Church in St. Paul and celebrate with guests at Mendakota Country Club. I simply can not wait!

    Central Park:: Roseville Family Session

    There is never (ever) a dull moment when there are two little boys under the age of four being photographed. I met the Evens family at the beautiful Central Park in Roseville. Complete with fountains, gardens, and a field to run in, it was not only the perfect place for photos, but the perfect place for two little boys.

    We began our session on paths and grass where the boys could run off a little energy and then be excited for photos. We dodged a few rain clouds and ended up under trees while dad tickled the boys to keep them distracted and eventually the sun shown through to give us an incredible golden hour.

    The end of the session ended at the beautiful fountain, and of course, water was played in, laughs were had and family photos were checked off the list for another year! I can not wait to see this family again this fall for more running, games and of course, photos!

      Why I meet and reach out to other vendors

      As a business, it is easy to meet and connect with my clients.  I actually require it either over a FaceTime or Zoom meeting or in person of all my clients because I want to make sure that we are a good fit for one another for the wedding day.  I want to really get to know their personalities as a couple, as well as for them to get to know me as a photographer and a person.  I don’t want any surprises to come for my clients in what they are receiving from me or what I deliver.  It makes sense.

      But there are other people that I also meet with on a regular basis, and that is the other vendors that are working in the wedding industry.  Not only other florists, event planners and bands, but other photographers. This not only brings community to the industry, but also allows me to personally meet people I want to refer!

      I have loved getting to know some incredible people in the industry through a few different networking events, meetings for coffee and Chipolte, and online meetings. Clubhouse has also been a game changer for me. I am loving this app and the way I am able to hear and interact with everyday people from all over the world doing the same thing I am doing!

      If you are a vendor and we haven’t yet connected, please reach out.I would love to meet you in person or online!!

        Lakeville Engagement Session:: Christie and Blake

        I met Christie at a wedding I did back in September. She was a bridesmaid and Blake a groomsmen. We ended up chatting it up as the girls got ready and by the end of the evening, I felt as if she, Blake and I (along with the rest of their super fun wedding party!) had been friends for years.

        Christie and Blake chose to do their July wedding on her parent’s property and the vision she has for the day is so much fun. I can’t wait to share it after it happens. Because they will be celebrating in the summer, they chose to do a winter engagement session at their home. We added in their fur babies and wine, cheese and a charcuterie board to celebrate their engagement.

        We headed to a nearby park for sunset photos and thankfully the December day gave us one incredible sunset to revel in. I can’t wait to celebrate again with them in a few short months! Congratulations Blake and Christie.
