Why I meet and reach out to other vendors

As a business, it is easy to meet and connect with my clients.  I actually require it either over a FaceTime or Zoom meeting or in person of all my clients because I want to make sure that we are a good fit for one another for the wedding day.  I want to really get to know their personalities as a couple, as well as for them to get to know me as a photographer and a person.  I don’t want any surprises to come for my clients in what they are receiving from me or what I deliver.  It makes sense.

But there are other people that I also meet with on a regular basis, and that is the other vendors that are working in the wedding industry.  Not only other florists, event planners and bands, but other photographers. This not only brings community to the industry, but also allows me to personally meet people I want to refer!

I have loved getting to know some incredible people in the industry through a few different networking events, meetings for coffee and Chipolte, and online meetings. Clubhouse has also been a game changer for me. I am loving this app and the way I am able to hear and interact with everyday people from all over the world doing the same thing I am doing!

If you are a vendor and we haven’t yet connected, please reach out.I would love to meet you in person or online!!

    Lakeville Engagement Session:: Christie and Blake

    I met Christie at a wedding I did back in September. She was a bridesmaid and Blake a groomsmen. We ended up chatting it up as the girls got ready and by the end of the evening, I felt as if she, Blake and I (along with the rest of their super fun wedding party!) had been friends for years.

    Christie and Blake chose to do their July wedding on her parent’s property and the vision she has for the day is so much fun. I can’t wait to share it after it happens. Because they will be celebrating in the summer, they chose to do a winter engagement session at their home. We added in their fur babies and wine, cheese and a charcuterie board to celebrate their engagement.

    We headed to a nearby park for sunset photos and thankfully the December day gave us one incredible sunset to revel in. I can’t wait to celebrate again with them in a few short months! Congratulations Blake and Christie.

        Maple Grove Newborn:: Clara

        She’s a lucky little lady! Walking into the home of the Asleson’s, I knew this session was going to be special. A few months back I photographed Emily’s maternity session and in the past both of her boys maternity sessions and newbon photos, but this time around was even more special. These two little boys had been waiting for their little sister to arrive and she was welcomed by so much love.

        We started in her nursery, which was painted a light pink and an accent of darker pink walls. Above her crib was a beautiful sign created by another client and one of Emily’s good friends who does incredible sign work (Please go check her out HERE). The nursery held decor that was new and old items (including one of Emily’s well loved Raggidy-Ann dolls).

        We also took some time to photograph in the boys rooms and lastly in Emily and Neil’s master suite where we spent some time cuddling on the bed, laughing, tickling and reveling in sweet Clara.

        I am so thankful to have captured this family through the years, and feel so honored to be able to watch them grow. Congratulations!

          Minneapolis Family Session:: Meyer turns one

          It’s not until you have a child until you realize how fast a year really does go! Last year at this time, Laura and Dan were welcoming sweet Meyer home and this year, we watched him tot, squash cake and laugh as one sweet little boy! I never take this job lightly as I know each moment of time is precious. As children grow and change, capturing that time period brings back so many feelings of joy.

          Meyer was so much fun to watch as Laura brought out his cupcake to smash. He started out tentatively and then moved into playing with the sprinkles and figuring out that it was good to eat!

          Being huge Brewer fans, Laura put together one incredible Brewer themed birthday party for family and friends, including the invite that was put together in the form of a ticket. She was so creative and we had to capture some of that as well!

          Happy birthday sweet Meyer! It has been such a joy to photograph you this year!
