You may get a huge smash and hands deep in the sugary mess, or you may get the complete opposite, tears and not wanting to get messy! I have seen it all and either way it is so stinkin’ cute. Every year for the past five years I have been able to photograph the Getchus family. It has been SUCH a joy to watch Gavin grow and mature, and connect with his parents, Jackie and Tom. After years of having the same families, I feel like we are friends and I will often linger and hear how life is really going with these families. I am so grateful for this sweet family and look forward to seeing many families like them in 2019!
I just love seeing families, and bring in their extended families and let the fun begin! I was thankful to have booked and indoor space with these lovely people as the weather turned on us and was cold and blustery and even snowed a bit! I’m so thankful for the indoor spaces Minneapolis provides and look forward to more warm sessions this summer with more large family groups!
Melanie showed up at Kelley’s small church one day to visit with her family. Kelley welcomed them and stayed after to chat with her for a bit. They met again at Melanie’s brother’s wedding this past summer and in July the two began dating.
Over Valentine’s day, Kelley was going on a trip with his family. Melanie was a bit sad as she was hoping to spend the day with him, but he promised to FaceTime with her, and so in the evening right as she finished work, she came home. As she chatted with him, he told her to go into the living room, and when she arrived, there he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand asking her to be his wife!
We had an incredibly warm day for their engagement session and I simply can not wait to spend their June wedding day with them!
There is nothing more exhilarating to me than keeping up with two toddlers during a session! Constantly they keep me on my toes and make me feel like I am young again! The Pulliam family gave me this sweet gift as I heard stories, ran back and forth, laughed a lot and enjoyed the sunshine with them! I love seeing sweet families over and over again, and I think I may even credit all of them for keeping me young.

Including siblings in your newborn session… yes or no?
My answer is always yes.
It might feel a little chaotic in the moment, but those are often the images you end up treasuring the most—the real connection, the tiny interactions, the beginning of a new family story.
I’ve loved watching the Luong family grow through all three of their children’s newborn sessions, and those sibling moments are always some of my favorites.
