This little gem was born to a precious family that I have had the privilege photographing since they were married. It is a complete bleeding to watch families grow and change, and already I am sure these little ones have changed since this shoot!

These next few weeks I am taking you back to those warm summer days. In the midst of the chilling cold, there are plenty of photos to be had, but I am craving the warmth of summer and this family embodies the fullness of a Minnesota summer day. The lake, a festival, and a warm summer breeze only added to the fun I had with the Childs family!

While playing outside with her four brothers one day in St. Paul, CorrieAnn happened to be digging in her backyard when she came across a ring. Not just any ring, but one that she would save, have cleaned and hang on to for the rest of her life. One that she would save only for her true love. Fast forward to her college days where CorrieAnn and Erik met. Noth thinking much about him, she continued on with life only to re-meet him again in August of 2013 when the two joined the same Bible Study at their church. After chatting a few times, the two quickly relayed the other was a perfect fit.
In October, Erik took CorrieAnn up to Winona. She jested that the two should stop at the scenic overlook because her father had always done so when she was a kid. Not knowing that Erik had already planned on stopping, he obliged and after gazing at the autumn forest, Erik got down on a knee and asked CorrieAnn to be his wife!
Their wedding day was just as perfect! Among a small group of close family and friends, the two were wed on a frigid January day!! It was a pleasure working with this sweet couple, I am still looking forward to shooting their large reception in February, but for now, here is a peek into their intimate day.

And here is your slide show::
When you know, you know! And it was so with CorrieAnn and Erik. Both had been waiting for that special somebody and when they finally met each other, they both knew! This wedding was a beautiful intimate one to shoot and I was honored to be a part of it! Here are just some of the details from fabulous vendors that helped make CorrieAnn and Erik’s day perfect! More to come tomorrow!!

Another week has flown by and all I can be in thankful as we continue to be blessed by our good and gracious Father! If you have not already read, this is my personal project for the year. Join along with me or see last week to read more about it!
Highlights of our week:
Sledding and finally being able to play outside after a frigid MN week
Getting 5 inches off my hair and going the darkest I have ever gone (still getting used to it!!)
Homework and prepping for the good ‘ol science fair!
Blustering and driving winds leading us back indoors to play and create
Starting a Bible Study with one of my girl friends from church on Philippians (using my “K” notebook that one of my crafty friend’s gifted me with!)
Pool time for the kids

What a joy it was to capture Lizzy and Ryan and their now family of five! Adding these two sweet twins to the mix definitely brought life and so much joy to their session! Congratulations to you both!!
From their engagement session, to their wedding, to the birth of their first daughter and now to their second, it’s been a joy and honor to be able to photograph couples like the Wargo’s as their life changes.
It’s what makes my job so meaningful and fulfilling! Congratulations Hannah and Jake, your family is beautiful!
Including siblings in your newborn session… yes or no?
My answer is always yes.
It might feel a little chaotic in the moment, but those are often the images you end up treasuring the most—the real connection, the tiny interactions, the beginning of a new family story.
I’ve loved watching the Luong family grow through all three of their children’s newborn sessions, and those sibling moments are always some of my favorites.
If you’re wondering how it all works (and how we make it easy), I wrote a full blog post about it! Check it out in my stories
