Luca: Chicago baby

I love seeing friends.  We had the opportunity over July 4th weekend to see our very good friends Vince and Amanda.  They met us in Milwaukee and not only did we spend great time together (short, but sweet!), but we were able to get some 9 month photos of their little guy.  See HERE for his 3 month photos.

    Cherry Blossom Pie

Kim and Kristine are from the Minneapolis area, but are both living out of state and very far away from each other.  For sisters  (twins!), I can only imagine that this is tough, especially when there are cousins involved!  Kristine has been following me on the blog, and said she’d be up from Florida wanting photos of their families together.   Kim’s daughter whipped up a batch of Cherry Blossom Pie for me as we went through the shoot.  I was thrilled, not only with her creativity, but with the way this entire family welcomed me into their home.

And of course I could not leave without bringing in the grandparents with all their beautiful grandchildren!

Beautiful photos and beautiful idea. I wish more people did this kind of thing. Extended family all together. Love it! The pie sounds great too!

I will never forget that Cherry Blossom Pie…you have no idea how blessed I feel that you were able to capture moments of my kids and my niece and nephew that I wouldn’t have! With not seeing them very often, every moment is so important and every picture reminds me of something special that the kids bring into my life…thank you, thank you:)

    Dan and Allison: Minneapolis wedding

Emotions.  The word of this wedding day.

Mom weeping as her daughter emerges in her wedding dress.  Dad wiping tears away from his eyes as he starts to walk his baby girl down the aisle.  Bridesmaids tearing up as the couple says their vows to one another.  The groom with tears streaming down his face as his bride commits her life to him.  The bride wiping away tears from her own face and her husbands as they are now presented husband and wife.

Absolutely beautiful.  I love photographing emotion.  I have to admit my assistants and I were tearing up as the day progressed.  It was absolutely beautiful.

Here are the vendors that helped make the day amazing.

Celebrating Abbey, 30, the Farmer’s market and Des Monies, IA!

I love girls weekends, especially with my girls from IOWA!  The six of us roomed together our Sophomore year of college and since then we have all remained friends, which I am so grateful for.  These girls are AMAZING.   10 years later we are still celebrating birthdays and taking road trips to see each other.  Three of us live in MN and the other 3 live in IA.  This time around we were celebrating Abbey’s 30th!  She was so great and planned out the short weekend for us, which included a fun trip to one of our favorite spots, the farmer’s market, and then on to the wonderful sites of Des Monies.

We were also celebrating 3 new arrivals coming in the fall, and all 3 are boys!

    I love girls weekends!

      Birthdays and quality girl time

Nothing makes another year/ day/ hour/minute better than spending quality time with my girlfriends.  I have been extremely (yes I am emphasizing this word a LOT) blessed in having wonderful women who are so uplifting and caring, not only to me my family, but to my spiritual and emotional well-being.  (Like: “who can get coffee with me fast, so I can get out of the house and talk to non preschoolers for the day!”)

We all met in college almost 11 years ago and have been together through moves, husbands and children.  Although there are about 15 of us (half living in the Cities and the other half over the rest of the country), we have all been able to see each other a couple times a year or more.

This is also the year of the big 3-0!

This time it was Sarah’s turn to go up in the ladder of years.  For her birthday she asked if I would be willing to photograph as many of us girls that could come and we headed out to St. Paul to enjoy the afternoon and quality girl time.

( Disclaimer ***  the models you see below are actually real, amazing, beautiful women and moms that I I have the privilege of calling friends.  Love you all, and even those of you who could not have been there that day, I am so blessed! xoxoxo!)

Happy birthday my dear friend!  Here is to a young 30!
