Last year I photographed Winnie as a newborn. This year she turned one, and what a joy it was to see her and her family again!
I know there are a few more times this year I will get to connect with the Winge’s and I can not wait!

This past month has been crazy. I have been editing, blogging, e-mailing and then momm-ing. Piano after school, Soccer and baseball collided but we couldn’t do either because of an end of the year program at church! Just laughing my way into bed thinking about how busy May always is! Anyone else feel this way about their schedules?! Please send someone to help me say no….

When Allie contacted me to see if I would be willing to do a Found Family session for her, I was thrilled. It’s been a while since I have had the opportunity to photograph an adoption session. She and her husband Ben were able to be with Axel’s birth mother when he was born.
We made sure to include Axel’s older four pawed brother in the session and of course he was just as sweet as ever and loved on his baby brother well.
Axel was a joy to photograph. If you or someone you know has recently adopted, please send them my way. I am a huge advocate of adoption, and love to bless families as they celebrate being put together!

Spring is such a great time for family photos! Add in a beautiful, sun-shinny day, a happy toddler and kind parents; and I am a happy photographer.
I headed to the Sanchez’s house mid-afternoon to find a very happy one year old who had just awoken from a long nap. Because she is obsessed with reading and her cat, we just had to incorporate some books and the kitty in photos!
After being inside a bit, we headed outside to enjoy the sun and snap some photos.
It was a joy to meet this family and I hope to see them again in the future!

There are so many different things we race around for in life. Ways that the social media world tells us that we have to be somebody big and exciting and amazing. We have to get more hearts, dot our i’s and cross our t’s, keep the streak going. We have to be put together, up with all the trends and be invested in all the camps, sports and activities for our kids.
We try so desperately to keep searching for the “more” and quite honestly; its exhausting!
But what if in reality that “more” we are so desperately grasping for is right in front of our faces disappearing as we search?
The little people we are investing into, the husband or wife that wants to be known, or the friend who needs a listening ear; the things that will last. Be permininant.
These are the things that need to be preserved. The years and the memories of a life well spent together. This is the “more” we need to find together and push one another toward. Who’s with me?

Baby Mary has arrived and is already so deeply loved by Nicole and Aaron.
I’ve had the true honor of photographing this family since their oldest was born over 16 years ago, and watching their story grow through each new season has been something really special. From newborn snuggles to busy, full family life being invited back again and again is something I never take for granted.
This family is deeply rooted in the world of forage, county fairs, and raising and showing lambs and sheep, so it only felt fitting to include a little lamb hat for baby Mary’s first photos. A small nod to a big part of their life and traditions.
Welcome to the world, sweet girl
Spring soirée perfection.
Rob and Sarah’s wedding day was a beautiful blend of faith, family, and thoughtful design. Inspired by Monet’s garden paintings, their celebration was filled with soft spring colors, meaningful heirlooms, and intentional details at every turn.
After a joyful ceremony at Eagle Brook Church, surrounded by family and friends, they celebrated the night away at Silverwood Park with beautiful florals, heartfelt speeches, lakeside portraits, and dancing.
One of my favorite details? Sarah changed into her mother’s wedding dress for the reception, while flowers made from that same gown were sewn into her veil.
Congratulations, Rob and Sarah!
