After the rains fell, a perfectly flawless summer day erupted giving us lush greens and plant of space to go throughout the campus of the University of Northwestern for photos! Looking forward to seeing this family in the near future!!
Oh July! You are my favorite month by far. We will hit up all the watersides and pools we can this month and enjoy these wonderfully long and hot days of summer! Six months has to be one of my favorite stages for babies, I love their rolls, the way they interact and coo. Sweet Elsie was no exception, I loved meeting her at the baby stage, but seeing her wide eyed and happy brought me so much joy! And seeing families on a regular basis makes me even more happy!!
June is here, and with that LONG, beautiful, summer days! Looking for an updated family photo? Having a baby? Getting married? I’d love to connect, and don’t mind me, I’ll just be sitting outside enjoying the sun!

Dawn and I connected last fall. Her sweet little Ben reminded me so much of my Ben as a two year old and as we talked throughout her session, I knew we would be friends. Sweet little Matthew was born at the beginning of April and they all came into the studio for his session, again (as I always mention) for me to get my baby fix! I can’t wait to see this sweet little guy as he grows throughout the year!!
From their engagement session, to their wedding, to the birth of their first daughter and now to their second, it’s been a joy and honor to be able to photograph couples like the Wargo’s as their life changes.
It’s what makes my job so meaningful and fulfilling! Congratulations Hannah and Jake, your family is beautiful!
Including siblings in your newborn session… yes or no?
My answer is always yes.
It might feel a little chaotic in the moment, but those are often the images you end up treasuring the most—the real connection, the tiny interactions, the beginning of a new family story.
I’ve loved watching the Luong family grow through all three of their children’s newborn sessions, and those sibling moments are always some of my favorites.
