Ryan & Kelly: Bar Lurcat wedding

It never intended to happen (well it really never does!)   Ryan was in his hum-drum of every day life at the office, when by chance he met Kelly.  She was kind-hearted and had many of the same interests as he did.  After a couple of months of passing -by chance- at the office, the two decided to go out for drinks and ended up talking for 4-5 hours.  A few days later Ryan called Kelly for their official first date.

Not too long after that, the couple planned a trip up to northern Minnesota to view the changing fall leaves.  A year later they decided to go on that same trip and on the first night Ryan went out for “groceries” and decorated the bonfire pit at the resort, got a fire going and tried to calm his nerves while Kelly was unpacking in their room not knowing what was going to happen next!  When Ryan came back, he escorted her down to the pit and proposed!

Their September wedding was absolutely perfect.  As I mentioned yesterday, they were wonderful to be with and I felt like they were some of my old friends!  Kelly and Ryan, I wish you both so much joy and happiness!

    • I actually only meant to say “congrats” to the above post… but man, that B&W of the bride on this post is absolutely stunning.

    Ryan & Kelly: details

They were secretly “stalking” me.  Ryan joked with me as we met for coffee.  I had photographed Kelly’s friend’s wedding and got to chat with the two of them.  When we met, I felt like we were old friends as we chatted about their wedding.  Being the first wedding of fall, and after a 6 week break from weddings, I was ready to get back into the scene.  I could NOT have asked for a better couple, venue, group of people to spend the day with.  I have to admit, I was a little obsessed with the venue, yellows and grays and Kelly’s dress and the pure awesomeness of the way the day was pulled together.  More images to come tomorrow!!

Christopher & Alissa; Columbia Manor Wedding

A tour is where it began.   Alissa came to the University of Minnesota looking into graduate school.  Chris, being a grad student in music theory and Alissa looking into studying it as well, hit it off right away.  Chris showed her around the campus, answered questions that she had and told her more about the program.  Little did they both know that they would be studying in the same classes that next year.  The reconnected in a class together and quickly became friends.

Fast forward a few years, Chris took Alissa to one of their favorite spots in Connecticut where they were living called  Lighthouse Point Park.  Pretty early on into the walk, Chris took Alissa out to a dock where he got down on a knee and proposed while Alissa worried that the ring might fall into the water!  After a short picnic and a drive along the coast, the two happily called friends and family and celebrated for dinner.

Their wedding day was filled with musical inspiration. Both being musicians, the ceremony and reception were filled with beautiful musical pieces!  Chris and Alissa, it was a joy to work with you.  Blessings to you as you start off your new life together!!!

And here is your slide show!
