Alex & Susie:: Women’s Club wedding

Late June of 2012, Alex and Susie were vacationing in Chicago to explore the city together.  Alex made a reservation at a local tapas resturant to replacate the couple’s first date in Minneapolis which was at another tapas restaurant.  After enjoying a delicios meal and waiting for dessert, Alex took Susie’s hands in his and said, “Eres el amor de mi vida.  Ser mi mujer, la madre de mis hijos, mi companero para siempre.  Casa me.” (You are the love of my life.  Be my woman, the mother of my children, my companion forever.  Marry me.)  He then pulled out a beautiful white gold diamond ring from his pocket and awaited Susue’s responce.  Utterly speechless and somewhat stunned, Susie responded with a “YES!” while wiping away tears.  When thier flan arrived the two were discussing their future together.

A fabulously hot day, these two were such a joyful and fun group to work with.  Oh and did I mention, these two know how to throw a party!  Susie and Alex, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day.  Many, many blessings to you both!

Alex & Susie:: Details of a Women’s Club wedding

Tradition mixed with chemistry.  Those were the themes for Alex and Susie’s wedding day.  With roots in Spain, Alex brought into the wedding day his Spanish heritage.  Details ranging from a traditional toast, hand made Chantilly Lace veil for Susie, Alex’s mother walking him down the asile, a Flanenco dance, handing out gifts to their guests during dinner and an ice sculpture of a bull were just a few of the things that helped create the Spanish mood.  Susie’s family, of Sweedish decent, added Lingonberry tarts, sweet potato cakes, a polka, and a couples table  beneath an arch of flowers.  Not only were the two full of tradition, but they both incorporated their love of chemistry by having one of their professors marry them and adding the chemical elements to the place cards.

Other details from the purples to the lace to the Women’s Club itself radiated the beauty of the couple!  More to come tomorrow!!

Jared & Rachel:: Springfield, IL wedding

They met through mutual friends when she started off at her freshman year at Lincon Christian University.  Not too long after their meeting, while dancing under the stars, Jared asked Rachel defined the relationship and became an item.  As they went through their following years of school (Jared in ministry and Rachel in education), they pushed through the ups and downs of a relationship and eventually being miles apart.

Easter of 2013, after a big Easter dinner, they went on a Easter egg hunt with family and friends where everyone collected eggs with their initals on them.  As Rachel hunted for her eggs and opend them, all the small items in the eggs were a representation of something she and Jared had done in their relationship or qualities about her.  At the end of the hunt, Jared took out an egg from his own basket opened it and got down on one knee and proposed.

Their wedding day was filled with so much joy and love.  The two were so fun and easy to be with, and I was a blessed one, among many, to have been able to celebrate with them and many of their friends and family.  Blessings to the both of you as you enter this joyous stage of marraige.  May the Lord continue to bless, lead and guide you as you walk this new road!  XO

Jared and Rachel:: Details of a Springfield, IL wedding

It’s not for everyone that I would travel to a town in the middle of Illinos to shoot a wedding, but for this sweet coulple, I was head over heels to do it.  As we communicated, I couldn’t help but get more and more excited for the big day as I heard more about the details.  Upon arrival, I was almost squeeling.  (Actually I probably was, and the bridesmaids can attest to it!)

Not only did Rachel and her mother come up with brilliant and creative ideas, they also pulled from Pinterest, family, and friends to make the wedding completely their own.  Rachel and her mom planted and watered the center pieces (an activity they loved doing when Rachel was a little girl) and planted them in her grandfather’s pots which were were laid on cheese rounds that he used when Rachel’s mom was a kid.  Andies Mints and Fruit snacks (Rachel and Jared’s favorites!) were laid out on the tables for guests to enjoy.  As both Jared and Rachel enjoy games, they created a wedding mad libs for guests.  Family got together to help make the cheesecakes that were served in a cheesecake bar at the end of the evening.  Bridesmaids chose from a variety of dresses that would best represent their personalities and  Rachel pulled them together with matching coral bracelets.  The reception area was an array of paper flowers that Rachel and her friends and family made and created to bring a vintage- earthy feel to the entire day.  Jinga pieces made for the guest book.

I absolutely loved this day and the venue and staff at The Rail were AMAZING and so hospitable.  More of the wedding day to come tomorrow, but for now, please squeal along with me and enjoy….
