Layla and Adam’s wedding:: Cottage Grove, MN

Once upon a digital scroll, a love story unfolded in the most unexpected yet charming of ways. Layla and Adam’s tale began in the virtual realms of Hinge, where their connection blossomed from witty banter to heartfelt conversations. Little did they know that their virtual rendezvous would lead to a journey filled with love, laughter, and a sprinkle of onion-ring humor.

Adam, with his playful heart, fondly recalls the moment he “proposed” with an onion ring. Layla cherishes the memory but notes that the true proposal was a joint decision, a culmination of their shared dreams and affection. Soon after Adam’s “proposal,” he was deployed for 15 months. Despite the distance, the couple found creative ways to stay connected. They spent time together over FaceTime, doing crossword puzzles, working out, and spending virtual time with friends. Their bond only grew stronger during this period.

As their love deepened, they began planning their special day at a private residence in Cottage Grove, MN. Layla and Adam sought the expertise of Rustic Elegance, led by the talented Kellie Heinen. With a vision of rustic charm and timeless elegance, Kellie wove magic into every detail, ensuring that their wedding would be nothing short of a fairytale.

Their wedding day took place at a farm nestled in Cottage Grove, MN, a cherished piece of Adam’s family history. The rolling hills and lush greenery provided the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and reception. Preparing for the big day, Layla entrusted her hair to the skilled hands of Shayla Schrupp, whose artistry brought out her natural beauty, accentuating her radiant smile. For her flawless makeup, Anna Hutsell of Glam with Anna worked wonders, creating a look that was both ethereal and enchanting. Layla’s stunning Oleg Cassini dress from David’s Bridal was a vision of timeless beauty, embodying grace and sophistication.

As the ceremony commenced, the sun peeked through dramatic skies, casting a golden hue over the couple. Despite a deluge of rain that earlier had sent guests scurrying into the pole barn before the ceremony began, the sun made a triumphant return as Layla and Adam were pronounced husband and wife. As the ceremony ended, Milk Mart Ice Cream Truck offering Minnesota-made ice cream sandwiches provided a whimsical and delicious treat for guests of all ages.

Gastrotruck, the caterer for the day, delighted guests with farm-fresh brisket and chicken sliders, homemade jalapeño mac & cheese, homemade kettle chips, and roasted vegetables. Ergo Floral added a touch of floral enchantment with Layla’s bouquet filled with seasonal blooms of peonies, roses, and Queen Anne’s lace. No wedding is complete without a sweet indulgence, and Amy’s Cupcake Shoppe delivered with a variety of cupcakes ranging from lemon to honey fig rosemary that left taste buds wanting more. Milk Mart Ice Cream Truck offering Minnesota-made ice cream sandwiches provided a whimsical and delicious treat for guests of all ages as the ceremony ended.

The reception was filled with music and joy, thanks to DJ Greg Ellis, who ensured that every moment was accompanied by tunes that resonated with love and celebration. Stationery from Minted added to the rustic farm vision, setting the tone for the enchanting affair. Layla and Adam’s wedding was filled with unique and personal touches. The couple decided to have some fun playing with a piñata, much to the delight of the children, who eagerly gathered the scattered candy. They also served a variety of homemade beers along with local brews from New Glarus and Summit, adding a personal touch to the celebration.

Amidst all the preparations and celebrations, Layla and Adam held dear to family heirlooms, adorning themselves with Layla wearing her mother’s necklace and earrings and bracelet from her aunt that carried sentimental value. Adam looked dashing in attire from Milbern Clothing Company, adding a touch of classic style to the celebration. As for the rings that sealed their love, Brilliant Earth and Squaremade were the artisans behind these symbols of eternal commitment.

Their wedding day was not just about exchanging vows but about weaving together their past, present, and future into a tapestry of love and togetherness. As Layla and Adam embarked on this new chapter of their lives, they carried with them the warmth of cherished memories and the promise of a future filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures.
