It only seemed fitting for these two graduated Benny/ Johnny couple to connect and even marry at the place they started.  Their relationship didn’t begin until they graduated in 2010, and Ashley moved to the South of France to teach English. Mike was on a family trip to Italy visiting his little sister Robin as she studied abroad when he extended his stay for an amicable two weeks with Ashley. The two traveled to Paris where they spent a romantic weekend walking in the rain, admiring art, and sharing sweet conversations in French Cafe’s.  It was only then and there that they realized they had both fallen for each other. They continued their relationship through hand-written letters back and forth between France and North Dakota until Ashley returned home in May of 2011.

Ashley was away for work in DC the week prior, when Mike had just enough time to pop an arguably bigger question to Ashley’s dad, Jon, asking for his blessing of their desire to be married. Jon gave his support, and Mike plotted to give Ashley the biggest surprise of her life (because she is never surprised, since nothing gets past her). Mike picked Ashley up from MSP Airport that Friday, and brought her home to a decorated scene of flowers, photos, and the letters they had written one another while she was in France. Expecting nothing, Ashley thought this shrine was a sweet surprise in and of itself, so she was absolutely shocked to turn around with her hand on her heart to see Mike on one knee holding the most beautiful ring. Their wedding day was filled with so much joy, love and friends.  It was such an honor to be a part of and document!  Many blessings to you both as you walk this road of life together!
