New Web-site

I am thrilled.  Ok beyond thrilled, overjoyed, excited and maybe a little giddy…

Finally, after months and months of trying and waiting, the new web-site has been launched.  It comes just in time for the new year, which is packed with new things!  I have to say I am incredibly blessed.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

    New Resolutions

Everyone has their New Year resolutions.  In the past I have thought this is pretty unrealistic.   Basically because I am one of the statistics. My “resolutions” only last until mid-February.  Then I try again the next year, vowing that again I will try and and try, only to give up once March comes around because I have been “just so stinkin busy!”

So this year one of my resolutions (among many) is to blog at least once a day during the work week.  Can’t be that hard right?  Well for me, yes!  (Structure?!  What for?  Yes, this is me to a T!)  But that is what resolutions are for, right?

It is among the many directions I feel pulled to go in business.  (More of that to come in later posts).

But for today, Happy New Year, and may you be one to keep your resolution this 2010 year!

      My 30th

So I have been so extremely busy to post photos from the BIG night, and reluctant, because my 20’s are gone and now…

      I hit the Big 3-0 Nov. 7th.

Luckily for me, one of my roommates and wonderful friends from college is a week before me Nov 1st, so we could bring in the big event together.  We decided to throw ourselves our own birthday party and do exactly what we wanted- a girls-only slumber party.  You know the kind, where you stay up way too late talking and chowing down chips and salsa?  It was perfect!  We also wanted our very best girlfriends there from college, and fortunately many of them were able to come. ( We did definitely miss those who couldn’t make it that night!)

Jana arranged almost the entire night, and she put Martha Stewart to shame.  I have to say, I was so impressed with her skills.  Most of all the cake, that she MADE into a 3 and 0 and let me tell you it was delish!

We had a wonderful evening, and I am so amazed at how fast time goes by. I am blessed to have such amazing friends whom I love dearly.  Thank you for making it perfect!

I can only hope that my next 30 years are even more memorable.

        Just for fun Saturday

I have been going through numerous photos this past week trying desperately to update my web-site(yes there is a new one coming, eventually and yes, I have been saying that since July when I bought the template!)  But, I am sure you can understand with kids and the house and ministry and orders and weddings and shoots and everything else imaginable; cleaning out the garage, raking up leaves, music classes, the list goes on and on, so I will stop…It just has not gotten completed.  SO… this month I have already gone through all my photos and have it almost complete.  Going through all those photos brought back so many memories and times in life.  I am so grateful to have had met all the wonderful people throughout the years and have improved in my craft along the way.  Here are a few that caught my eye out of the archives.  I can’t wait to add more this next year.  Maybe you’ll be in one of them!

        Happy Saturday!

          The Behnken Family

Yes! I absolutely love photographing this family.  Not only because they are beautiful people, with beautiful children, and beautiful hearts, but because Laura is one of my very best friends.  We met in 6th grade and have been together through those junior high years, graduating from high school, being separated while away at college (with very long phone conversations), watching each other get married and now being together in the adventures of parenting.   I am SO utterly thankful that she and I are still able to live in the same state and get to see each other about once a month.  (We are still able to have our long conversations, even if they now include screaming children in the background!)

I told Lydia that I was going to do a shoot for the Behnkens.  She then asked me with her sweet little voice, “Mom, how long have you known Laura?”  I responded ” A very long time.”  She pondered for a moment and responded, “I hope that I can have a best friend as long for as you have had Laura.”

I am thankful that she sees the value in long time friendships and I pray that she will be able to have as good of a friend as I have in Laura as well.
