Gale Woods Farm Wedding :: Minnetrista, MN

In the fall of 2021, Colin had a lot of new, exciting and big changes going on in his life. One of the most exciting and significant events was meeting Jordan. He was transitioning to a new job in the Twin Cities to US Bank Stadium, which meant the apartment search was on. While looking at an apartment in Saint Paul, Jordan and Colin were walking in the neighborhood and came across a stump. She would go on to tell him about a game her family played while growing up called “stump.” He responded by hopping on the stump and kissing her. In that moment, he knew he was falling for her. Not long after, the couple moved into an apartment together nearby the same beloved stump.

The following September, the couple were walking home from Spyhouse coffee together. As they reached their favorite stump, Jordan hopped up on it with her coffee and hand and books in the other. Colin stayed off the stump and told her how much he loved her and how he was so excited to have their whole lives ahead of them. Jordan smiled back at him to encourage him to get on the stump with her. He grinned back and said, “But before I get on, I have to ask you a question.” He then got down on one knee and asked Jordan to marry him.

Jordan and Colin chose to host their wedding at Gale Woods Farm. Located on picturesque Whaletail Lake in Minnetrista, Gale Woods Farm features tall grasses, wide open fields and a variety of farm animals for guests to enjoy. The day began while Jordan and her bridesmaids got ready with Brianna Michaelson of Breezy Beauty, who did their hair and make up. Jordan then arrived at Gale Woods Farm in her beautiful Madeline Garner Morilee dress purchased at the Wedding Shoppe in Saint Paul. Colin was waiting for her at the bottom of the hill where the two chose to do their first look. We wandered along the grounds before Colin presented Jordan with a gift, a piece of their beloved stump, ready to be made into a beautiful end table for their home. Jordan was astonished and all tears as she hugged Colin.

The wedding party soon joined the couple with the ladies wearing burnt orange dresses, purchased from Azazie and the men looking in dapper navy suits from Knights Chamber in Maple Grove. The beautiful bouquets from Our Blessed Woods were the perfect accent when placed against the dresses and suits. Family then arrived for their time with photos

Their day was one of the hottest of the summer, but it didn’t stop them from having an incredible time. The outdoor ceremony began with Jordan and her father walking down the aisle while guests were encouraged to take ice packs on water bottles to stay cool. Colin and Jordan then exchanged rings from Wedding Day Diamonds while their guess looked on. The couple were celebrated as they were pronounced husband and wife and then greeted guests in the beautiful green space of the barn. They then headed in for an incredible dinner provided by Lunds and Byerlys and then went to cut their cake from Sift Bakery. After toasts they headed out for a beautiful golden hour along for photos near her grandfathers 1946 bright blue Chevy Truck. Jordan and Colin then came back to the dance floor for their first dance and Dirk Umbanhowar kept the party going for guests all night long. Colin and Jordan, congratulations! Enjoy your incredible honeymoon in New York City.

7 Vines Vineyard Wedding :: Dellwood, MN

While on deployment from the Air Force, Justine and Brandon met and quickly became friends. They both shared a love of video games, Star Wars, playing D&D (dungeons and dragons), and as Justine put it, being huge nerds together. Prior to Brandon‘s 2022 deployment, he proposed to Justine at home. She was packing to go to the airport and as she was doing so Brandon left the ring on top of her backpack. Confused, she turned to him and asked what the ring was all about. Smiling back, Brandon asked if she would marry him.

Their beautiful September day begin with hair and make up done by the talented team of Jamie Champion and continued as Justine slipped into her beautiful gown purchased from EDEL bridal boutique in Maryland where Justine grew up. The bridesmaids all wore a variety of mauve and burgundy dresses purchased from Birdy Gray which were paired with beautiful bouquets of dahlias and white roses created by Forever in Bloom. Their simple invitations from The Knot were the perfect touch to getting guests to the beautiful 7 Vines Vineyard in Dellwood, Minnesota where the ceremony and reception both took place.

Friends and family traveled from all over the United States to celebrate with Justine and Brandon over the holiday weekend. There was not a dry eye in the place as Brandon’s daughter, followed by Justine, walked down the aisle. One of their dear friends officiated the ceremony as they exchanged rings from Mueller Jewelers and Manly Bands. Friends and family cheered as they shared a kiss to end their ceremony.

Donatilli’s provided a tasty meal for guests to share and Rush City Bakery pulled together a dessert table full of sweet cupcakes and cakes. August of Studio Veil brought guests to the dance floor while light sticks. (Or sabers…) kept the dance lively and well lit! The couple spent time creating signs and decorations that showed their unique representation of Maryland and Minnesota coming together for their Photo Booth book that Studio Vail created for them.

The day ended with an exciting dance and exit into light sabers. Justine and Brandon, thank you for including me on your incredible day. May your yours together be richly blessed, congratulations!!

Bavaria Downs; Edward Anne Estate :: Chaska, MN

Bavaria Downs is an absolutely beautiful wedding venue. With its European charm, this private estate is tucked back into the rolling hills of Chaska and was the perfect setting to host Kristen and Connors August summer wedding. As grads from KU, Kristen, and Connor occasionally crossed paths while they were in college. Both being from Minnesota, they would drive back-and-forth together (along with a bunch of their Minnesota friends) and realized along the way, they both shared a sense of adventuring and eventually fell in love. Their admiration and joy is contagious to all around them, and I couldn’t wait to celebrate their wedding day alongside them and their family and friends.

The morning began in the Edward Anne Estates countryside bridal suite with the girls getting ready. Mimosas were clinked as Ziel Bridal took care of hair and make up for Kristen and her bridesmaids. Kristen‘s mom helped her get into her breathtaking Calla Blanche gown from Annika bridal while Connor and his groomsmen kept busy in the Club Room playing pool and cards. He eventually was helped into his emerald green Martin Patrick 3 suit from Atmosfere while his groomsmen dressed in their suits and floral ties from Etsy.

Kristen and Connor chose to do their first look on the terrace of the estate. After an emotional and tearful, first look, we perused the estate for couple photos. Family and the wedding party eventually joined us for more photots. The bridesmaids looked amazing in their dresses from Azazie and the florals that Kate Elliscu created popped when paired with the tan suits and lavendar dresses. We finished with family photos just before guests arrived in summer soirée for the ceremony. Pops of color dabbled the beautiful ceremony site as guests overlooked the landscape of tall grasses and shimmering lake. Connor and Kristen exchanged vows and rings from Landmark Jewelers. They also included a water pouring ceremony of water from Lake Minnetonka and water from the Pacific Ocean in California where the couple now resides into their ceremony. Guests cheered as they were pronounced husband and wife and as the couple exited, they were covered in rose petals. D’amico catering provided an assortment of cocktail hour appetizers and refreshing cocktails for the afternoon. Connor and Kristen toasted their bridal party and then headed into the reception for their first dance.

After the first dance, we headed out for an incredible golden hour and returned just in time for dinner from D’Amico and toasts by the grooms father, maid of honors, and best man. Lucky of Harmony DJ got one incredible party going while Dena and Matt from We do Wedding Videography captured the entire day on film. We ended the night with a beautiful sparkler exit and joy had by all. Kristen and Connor, it was an honor to document your day! Best wishes to you both as you start on your next adventure together!

The Clearing at Riverside Terrace Wedding:: Sauk Rapids, MN

In the midst of raising their own children and working rigorous jobs, unexpectedly, Dana and Jonathan met on eHarmony. Both knew what they were looking for in a life partner and within the first few dates as they shared their love of biking, cross-country and downhill skiing, hiking, traveling, and attending live music festivals, they both knew that what they had been looking for had been found. They clicked right away and since that moment, the two have not separated. At an Avett Brothers concert in Red Rocks, Colorado, Jonathan proposed to Dana and with a resounding yes, planning for their summer wedding began.

Jonathan and Dana chose to be married at The Clearing at Riverside Terrace, a beautiful event space along the banks of the Mississippi River in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. The couple wanted to be in an outdoor space that emanated their love for nature and the outdoors, and the space was perfect. Wildflowers, water, rocks, and trees gave a serene, feel to all who joined them for their wedding day. Dana and her bridesmaids began the day by getting ready together for hair and makeup. Mitsu Yang from Liv and Reed Salon did Dana‘s hair in a beautiful up-do. Trisha Power grew and then created, a beautiful array of zinnias, dahlias, and wildflowers for the bouquets, boutonnieres, and table arrangements to display on their wedding day. The florals paired perfectly with the lavender Azazie dresses that each bridesmaid chose. The men looked dapper and their Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic tan linen suits while Dana wore a Sincerity Bridal dress purchased at Brides of France in Edina, Minnesota. Classic and elegant, it was a perfect dress for her.

Friends and family came from near and far to celebrate the couple exchange vows. Jonathan‘s sister-in-law, Jessica, officiated their beautiful ceremony while Jonathan‘s son, Alex and nephew Rowan, played a heavy metal piece for the couple, and a sand ceremony was done to show the blending of the two families Jonathan and Dana chose to exchange rings from Bergstrom Studio and ended the ceremony with a kiss while guests celebrated with the couple.

The cocktail hour was followed by tasty Thai and Filipino food from Arroy Thai, and Megan Johnson of Little Sister Bake Shoppe created the most perfect cake and cupcakes, complete with decals of skis, bikes, and kayaks for guests to enjoy. Jonathan and Joe of Harmony DJ Entertainment brought the party to life and all enjoyed time together to celebrate this beautiful couple. Maple Ridge Farm Wedding:: Taylors Falls, MN

This past spring, I met Makayl and Brendan for their engagement session at the beautiful Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge in Zimmermann, MN. It was a beautiful spring evening and wonderful to get to know them. I knew their wedding day would be just as amazing, and it turned out to be the most beautiful summer day filled with joy and emotion. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish thanks to all the planning Makayl did for their July wedding at Maple Ridge Farm. This gorgeous Taylors Falls venue was the perfect place to host their outdoor wedding, and I was so excited to celebrate with their family and friends.

Makayl and her bridesmaids began the day by getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite at Maple Ridge Farm. Jeaninne Dille, a friend of Makayl family, did Makayl’s hair and make-up for her wedding day. Makayl then got into her stunning Oleg Cassini dress purchased from David’s Bridal and then went out to do a first look with her father. There was not a dry eye around as her father and then brothers saw her for the first time. We then moved into photos with her and her bridesmaids, who all purchased their classic black dresses individually, bringing their own individually to the wedding day. The groomsmen joined us later for a few photos, looking dapper in their black tuxes from Men’s Warehouse and then we sat off to get Brendan and Makayl married.

Makayla and Brandon exchanged vows and then rings from Kay Jewelers under a beautiful arbor in the field and more tears flowed as Makayl brought out her guitar and sang a surprise song she had written to Brendon. Guests cheered as they were pronounced, husband and wife while Alyssa Suchy caught everything on video for the couple.

Because Brendon and Makayl decided not to do a first look, we then went into family and wedding party photos around the beautiful grounds of the farm. Guests mingled through the cocktail hour with ice cold drinks and freezies (the brides’s favorite) while they chatted and caught up with friends before gathering in the barn for dinner from Deutschland Meats and cake to follow. Following the speeches, we headed out for some incredible golden hour photos in the fields, and then returned for the first dances. Brendan’s sister filled in for their mother who had recently passed away. There was not a dry eye in the place as Brendan they danced to “You Look Wonderful Tonight,” the song their parents danced to on their wedding day. PM Enterprises then transitioned and brought the party to life with loads of dancing from this incredible crew. Before ending the night Makayl, Brandon and I headed out for one last sunset shot and late night snacks arrived for guests.

Makayl and Brendan, congratulations again and thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day, it was such an honor. Have a wonderful time on your honeymoon to Door County and many blessings to you as you begin married life!
