Brickhouse wedding :: White Bear Lake, MN

Love knows no season, but there’s something undeniably magical about a winter wedding, especially when set against the backdrop of a beautiful Catholic church in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Andy and Raina’s wedding day was an enchanting celebration of a love that blossomed amidst the crisp winter air and the warm embrace of family and friends.

The ceremony took place at The Church of St. Peter in Forest Lake. The air inside was filled with the warmth of love and the melodies of sacred vows. The bridal party, adorned in emerald green velvet dresses and sharp grey suits, created a striking contrast against the traditional church setting. Raina was beautiful in her Justin Alexander wedding dress from Bridal Accents Couture.

One of the standout features of this winter wedding was the bridesmaids’ attire. Instead of the traditional winter colors, Raina opted for a stunning and unexpected choice – emerald green velvet dresses from Revelry. The men wore sharp grey suits from Men’s Warehouse that accented the women’s dresses well. The rich, deep green added a touch of warmth to the winter scene, and the luxurious velvet texture enhanced the overall elegance of the bridal party.

Following the ceremony, Raina and Andy braved the winter chill for some breathtaking photos. Against the snow-covered landscape of White Bear Lake, the emerald green coat that Raina wore (which was her grandmother’s) was perfectly paired with pops of green and pinecones in the beautiful bouquet created by Michele of Custom Floral Design. The couple wandered around Matoska Park where the sun shone brightly and cast a golden glow over the icy landscape. As Raina and Andy embraced in the brisk and cold air, timeless photographs that reflected the essence of their love were created.

The celebration continued at Brickhouse in White Bear Lake, where the couple hosted an intimate gathering of around 50 close friends and family members. The rustic charm of the venue perfectly complemented the winter theme, creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy. Choosing a more casual and intimate approach, Raina and Andy opted for an appetizer-style reception, treating their guests to a delightful array of small bites of shrimp, crab cakes and pizzas. Specialty drinks flowed freely, adding a touch of uniqueness to the celebration.

As the sun began to set, the wedding party ventured outdoors to capture the golden hues of twilight at a beautiful gazebo. The winter landscape provided a stunning backdrop as the laughter and joy of the celebration echoed in the crisp air. It was truly a beautiful day to celebrate Raina and Andy. Congratulations!!

Abella Farm Wedding :: Chisago City, MN

They met long ago. Tyler, a young engineer, trying to leave his mark on the industry crossed paths with Ashley, an ambitious analytical chemist, working to be a hero of science. There were meetings, emails, laughs, collaborations, and as Tyler likes to say, even hateful stares. Years passed and the two went their separate ways. During the pandemic, emails were exchanged and Ashley and Tyler caught up. Their lives continued to intertwine, and eventually the two moved in together, and began sharing their lives.

On Ashley’s birthday, Tyler arranged a series of stops in Northeast Minneapolis for dinner and drinks. One of the stops included Inbound Brewing, which is where the couple had gone on their first date. Tyler arranged to have friends and family there to meet them and upon her arrival, they each brought Ashley a purple rose. Finally, after Ashley’s sister and their two boys entered, Tyler came back while a song played in the background and in front of all, asked Ashley to be his wife.

The two chose to be wed at the beautiful French Country Abella Farm in Chisago City over Labor Day weekend. Ashley and her bridesmaids got ready in the beautiful bridal suite while Tyler and his groomsmen got dressed and hung out in the grooms granary area. Ashley‘s mother then helped get her into her elegant Made with Love dress purchased at A&Be bridal Boutique. Ashley‘s bridesmaids, all wearing different lavender Azazie gowns, then helped get her ready to see her father and then Tyler for their first looks. Their wedding party, then joined us for photos and fun on the patio. The men, all wearing suits from The Black Tux, looked dapper when paired with all the ladies and florals created by Bellagalla.

Ashley and Tyler were married in the Willows a perfect green space at the farm. Guests arrived to the site courtesy of the trolley, and then were seated to under a lush canopy of willow trees. Tyler‘s stepfather married the couple and the two exchanged rings from Wedding Day Diamonds. After the ceremony guests were brought back to the patio area where they were able to enjoy appetizers and drinks from Elmo catering. Local Surly beer was on tap and Northerly Photo Booth arrived for guests to be photographed in remembrance of Ashley and Tyler’s wedding day. Coasters with each guest’s name and state were placed at every setting and were created individually by Ashley and Tyler themselves. MN Nice Cream arrived in an ice cream truck at the end of the meal for guests to enjoy while Ashley and Tyler snuck away for some beautiful golden hour photos in front of the historic barn and wide open fields. The party got started after toasts and Ashley and Tyler kicked off the dance with first dances. It was truly an incredible day and I felt so honored to be a part of it. Ashley and Tyler, congratulations, and enjoy your incredible honeymoon to San Francisco and  St. Lucia.

Bavaria Downs; Edward Anne Estate :: Chaska, MN

Bavaria Downs is an absolutely beautiful wedding venue. With its European charm, this private estate is tucked back into the rolling hills of Chaska and was the perfect setting to host Kristen and Connors August summer wedding. As grads from KU, Kristen, and Connor occasionally crossed paths while they were in college. Both being from Minnesota, they would drive back-and-forth together (along with a bunch of their Minnesota friends) and realized along the way, they both shared a sense of adventuring and eventually fell in love. Their admiration and joy is contagious to all around them, and I couldn’t wait to celebrate their wedding day alongside them and their family and friends.

The morning began in the Edward Anne Estates countryside bridal suite with the girls getting ready. Mimosas were clinked as Ziel Bridal took care of hair and make up for Kristen and her bridesmaids. Kristen‘s mom helped her get into her breathtaking Calla Blanche gown from Annika bridal while Connor and his groomsmen kept busy in the Club Room playing pool and cards. He eventually was helped into his emerald green Martin Patrick 3 suit from Atmosfere while his groomsmen dressed in their suits and floral ties from Etsy.

Kristen and Connor chose to do their first look on the terrace of the estate. After an emotional and tearful, first look, we perused the estate for couple photos. Family and the wedding party eventually joined us for more photots. The bridesmaids looked amazing in their dresses from Azazie and the florals that Kate Elliscu created popped when paired with the tan suits and lavendar dresses. We finished with family photos just before guests arrived in summer soirée for the ceremony. Pops of color dabbled the beautiful ceremony site as guests overlooked the landscape of tall grasses and shimmering lake. Connor and Kristen exchanged vows and rings from Landmark Jewelers. They also included a water pouring ceremony of water from Lake Minnetonka and water from the Pacific Ocean in California where the couple now resides into their ceremony. Guests cheered as they were pronounced husband and wife and as the couple exited, they were covered in rose petals. D’amico catering provided an assortment of cocktail hour appetizers and refreshing cocktails for the afternoon. Connor and Kristen toasted their bridal party and then headed into the reception for their first dance.

After the first dance, we headed out for an incredible golden hour and returned just in time for dinner from D’Amico and toasts by the grooms father, maid of honors, and best man. Lucky of Harmony DJ got one incredible party going while Dena and Matt from We do Wedding Videography captured the entire day on film. We ended the night with a beautiful sparkler exit and joy had by all. Kristen and Connor, it was an honor to document your day! Best wishes to you both as you start on your next adventure together!

He read her profile, saw her photo, and Cameron knew he wanted to meet Nicole. She too saw Cameron on the app Hinge and after he asked her out, agreed. Nervously, they decided on Utepils Brewery in Minneapolis for their first date. A few awkward texts, then a smile and laugh, and they were both instantly at ease with the other. Cameron and Nicole ended up spending 6 hours chatting in the balmy March Minnesota weather on the brewery’s patio. From there, many dates were planned until one afternoon Cameron set up a scavenger hunt. He included Nicole’s best friend and then the two were sent on a chase between family members giving the next clues to them. Hutton House Wedding ::Medicine Lake, MN

In 2018 both Chris and Michelle swiped right on Bumble and neither knew what they were both in for. The two met for their first date and realized quickly they had much in common. One date turned into many and when Michelle was placed in Texas for her residency, Chris made the drastic move from the Midwest to the South to be with her. They both knew things were progressing towards marriage at that point and it was only a matter of time.

At Christmas the following year, Chis encouraged Michelle to take a weekend trip to Arizona to see her family. During that time, he planned an afternoon walking around a beautiful lake with fountains and greenery. As they were walking he approached an innocent bystander and asked if he’d take a video of the couple. During the video, Chris got down on one knee and proposed to Michelle. She of course said yes, and they were able to go back and celebrate with Michelle’s family.

Chris and Michelle chose to exchange their vows at the beautiful Hutton House on Medicine Lake. Because friends and family were coming from all over the world and they wanted to be able to spend the weekend celebrating with them, they chose to have a Thursday wedding. Jenna Cully and her team from Jenna Culley Events planned the most spectacular day and took all of Chris and Michelle’s requests into consideration.

The day began with Michelle and her bridal party getting hair done at the Jai b Experience and Kahuah and May doing make up. They party arrived in the party bus provided by Renae’s Limo’s and then her mother helped Michelle into her beautiful bridal gown from Raffine’s Bridal. Michelle’s bridal party all wore grey attire with dresses purchased at David’s Bridal and Chris’ bridal party wore navy blue with the men purchasing suits from Men’s Warehouse. The incredible floral arrangements created by Wilderland Floral paired beautifully with the blues and grays and looked stunning in the Hutton House. Being that Michelle is a first generation American, she wanted to incorporate her Nigerian heritage into most of the day. One of those wonderful attributes was having a group of people (her Aso-Ebi tribe), a group of people who encourages you and is a big part of your life and also wears the same traditional dress, be a part of photos. After doing photos with family and wedding party in front of the beautiful floral arch, Chris and Michelle chose to be married indoors. The ceremony was rich with family, love and honor for one another. After exchanging rings from Brilliant Earth and Cartier in front of their guests, Michelle and Chris were pronounced husband and wife and retreated to a room to exchange their vows to one another privately.

Their cocktail hour was full of mingling and friends reconnecting with one another until dinner from Marna’s was served to guests. The toasts that the mother’s and Chris gave were heartwarming and full of gratitude and love. Brandon Mensah started the party with Michelle and Chris’ first dance followed by incredible first dances with Michelle and her father and then Chris and his mother. About an hour into the dance, Chris and Michelle changed into traditional African dress and were announced and celebrated by all as they entered. It was such a celebration of joy and togetherness. Thank you Michelle and Chris for including me, it was an incredible night. I hope your honeymoon in Hawaii is restful and amazing!
