Dan and Allison: Details

When I received the e-mail I was floored.  Excited. and to be honest, a bit nervous.  I wanted to do the best job possible for her.  You see, Allison and I went to elementary school together.  Back when rolling your jeans was cool, florescent pink was my favorite color, and rollerblading was considered the means of transportation.  We hung out in high school going to football games  and swapping gossip at our lockers.  We graduated from high school over 10 years ago and went off to our respected colleges and professions, and like many, lost touch.  Thankfully Facebook reconnected us and we started back in right where we left off.

I was honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding day, and upon meeting Dan, I knew they were perfect for each other.   I could tell from the beginning, this man was head over heels for my friend.  He respects, honors and cares deeply for her.

Their wedding day was blessed with rain, a lot of it.  BUT…. they had the best attitude.  They were so awesome and Allison even walked in a field in her wedding dress to get some photos.  After the ceremony the rain did die off and we were able to get some absolutely stunning photos of the two of them together.  More to come tomorrow, but here are some details of their beautiful day!

Behnken Family: Minneapolis Family

One of my very best friends is due to have her4th baby in September, and yes I think she is amazing.  It is such a blessing to have her in my life and watch her beautiful family grow.  She really wanted some photos of the entire family before baby is born.  I headed over to their house greeted with hugs and kisses from her kids, and complaints of why my kids had not come with me (so sweet!)  I can not wait for baby B to come.  She will be welcomed into a wonderful family!

Laur- don’t hate me, but I LOVE this photo.  It is truly a joyful photo of you and your kids!  I’ll end here!

Happy Friday!

    Miller family: Minneapolis Family

Chad and Sally have been clients of mine since 2006 when they were married.   The Millers welcomed Grace into their lives last year and I was fortunate enough to photograph her as an infant.  We met again this spring to photograph and capture her in her toddler essence and she did not disappoint!  I absolutely love this stage; every mom knows that there is no need for the gym at this stage.  It is constant motion!

    Vineet and Jackie: Minneapolis wedding

I loved photographing Jackie and Vineet’s wedding.  It was two weddings in one day; a traditional Hindu ceremony followed by a traditional Lutheran ceremony.

Jackie and Vineet went to college together and were around each other often when her sorority and his fraternity hung out.  After being together throughout the years of college, the two moved out to the East cost.  Vineet took a position with the US Navy and for the past 6 months has been serving our country on the waters, only getting about a 10 day break to see Jackie and his family.  While at sea, Jackie took a teaching job and planned their wedding across the country with the help of her mother.

The two reconnected only a few weeks before their wedding day, making the celebration an even more glorious occasion.  Many blessings to the both of you as you start your life together, it was a joy to work with all of you!

    Vineet and Jackie: Details

Vineet and Jackie were two extraordinarily fun people to work with.  I was so excited when I booked their wedding last July because I knew that it would be completely amazing.  Not only had they planned a traditional Hindu ceremony, but they had a traditional Lutheran ceremony as well.  It was like 2 weddings in one, and I was one of the lucky recipients to be involved in both.

They started off their day in the traditional Hindu dress.  I was was awestruck at how amazing all the relatives were at helping the girls get ready in their brightly colored Sari’s and extravagant jewelry.  My assistant Steph and I had a blast running around these busy ladies and photographing all the details.

Each part of the Hindu ceremony was traditional and very beautiful.  The girls carried these down the asile and the maid of honor carried the most extravagant one with the most significance.

The ceremony itself was something I had never expierenced before and it was truly colorful and beautiful.

After the event of the Hindu ceremony, everyone quickly changed and entered in the traditional Lutheran garb.  The blues were a beautiful theme throughout the day.  The other most wonderful addition to the day was that Vineet is in the Navy and wore his uniform.  I love photographing men in uniform.  Put a beautiful bride next to him and I am in love with the photos!

More of this beautiful couple to come tomorrow.  I can’t wait to share more!
