Minnesotan’t love their city and Anna was no different. Before Anna and Mike tied the knot, we headed out into Minneapolis to capture this beautiful couple around the lakes! It was so much fun to get to know this amazing couple better!!
What do a cute little puppy, wine, rain and love have in common? Amy and John!!
We headed out to the wonderful Woodland Hill winery for some photos among the vines when out of the blue a huge thundercloud came rushing in carring in high winds and lods of rain! Right before the doun pour, Amy and John were able to roam the vinyeard for a while as I snapped some photos, and then we ended up running as the rain came!
A week later we picked up where we had left off to a beautiful summer evening filled with sun and a cute pup to join us.
I can’t wait for this October wedding. I know it will be just as fun, and I am hoping much less adventurous!!
They were booking a trip to the south, just to get away from the business of life, when I arrived at Ann and Jim’s home in Minneapolis. Offering me iced tea with a sprig of mint from her garden, Ann took me to the place she and Jim consider their sanctuary. Their backyard plot was as if it had come out of a Better Homes and Garden’s magazine. In years past the couple had worked with a trained gardner and landscaper to achieve the garden of their dreams, and now they were allowing me to enter their world. A crop of wild strawberries was waiting for the two neighbor boys the loved to come and pick them. A potting bench stood full of flowers I had never heard names for. Bright colors filled the garden as luscious greens filled as backdrops, and the quiet sound of trickling water brought a peace in the Minneapolis area. It was a joy and honor to come and photograph your peaceful garden for the day.
Since their wedding 4 years ago, Megan told me her and Jacob had not had good photo together. She wanted to do a fun session incorporating one of the things they both love.. reading and Harry Potter books. They were wonderfully prepared with great fun props. We incorporated them along with some sweet photos of the couple. It was such a great time and they are such a fun couple!
Including siblings in your newborn session… yes or no?
My answer is always yes.
It might feel a little chaotic in the moment, but those are often the images you end up treasuring the most—the real connection, the tiny interactions, the beginning of a new family story.
I’ve loved watching the Luong family grow through all three of their children’s newborn sessions, and those sibling moments are always some of my favorites.
