St. James Hotel Red Wing, MN :: Wedding

I was able to meet up with Rebekah, Alex and their boys in January for their combined engagement and family session. It was wonderful getting to know them and hear more of their story, see how they all love one another and get an idea of how their wedding day would be.

Their May wedding was held at the beautiful St. James Hotel in Red Wing. The two chose the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend to have extra time to celebrate with family and friends who came from far away. The two were wed and celebrated at the beautiful St. James Hotel. They chose to keep the day more traditional and wanted to accentuate the beautiful historical rooms there. Rebekah’s Justin Alexander dress from Angelique’s Bridal was a perfect satin white and lace and when paired with the beautiful white spring blooms from Bachman’s, looked even more classic. Jessie Condon and Rachel Olsen worked to create the beautiful hair and make up for Rebekah and her bridesmaids. The women began the day off in the beautiful bridal suite and before meeting Alex, Rebekah chose to have a special moment with her father.

The Bridesmaids all wore navy formal dresses from David’s Bridal and the groomsmen and Alex sported classic black tuxes and bowties from Men’s Warehouse giving the whole feel to the day a Downton Abby look. We spent time photographing inside around the hotel and after the ceremony headed outdoors for a few more photos in classic downtown Red Wing. We then spent some time doing family photos and then headed indoors for the ceremony where the couple exchanged their vows and their beautiful Helzburg Diamond rings. All cheered as the happy couple were pronounced husband and wife.

As guests made their way to the cocktail hour, Alex, Rebekah and I headed out for a few golden hour photos on Memorial Bluff in Red Wing. It overlooked the entire city and because of the overcast day, provided a beautiful backdrop for photos. Shaun Louis brought the perfect back ground music for the day and the St. James Hotel catering staff served a tasty meal. Amy Zerwas from the Baker’s table created the most a sweet and beautiful wedding cake to end the meal while guests mingled and danced the night away. Being a DJ at one time, Alex surprised guests by doing a set and the dance floor erupted! We ended the evening in celebration with Alex and Rebekah kissing though a beautiful canopy of sparklers.

Alex, Rebekah and family, it was a blessing to share your day with you. Alex and Rebekah enjoy your honeymoon on Mackinac Island and your time together away! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it.

St. James Hotel Red Wing , MN :: Wedding

What an incredible way to spend a spring day celebrating with Ashley and Duncan. Last summer we had such a blast together getting to know one another at the beautiful Centennial Lakes Park in Edina where the two were engaged and had their engagement photos taken.

I was so excited to be able to see the two of them again and laugh as hard as we did together. Ashley and Duncan’s wedding day was at the beautiful, historic St. James Hotel in Red Wing, MN. They both loved the historic feel of the hotel juxtaposed with the modern atmosphere of the newly renovated Portside Room. The space had gorgeous exposed brick, wood beams and chandeliers that were highlighted throughout the day with beautiful touches from 651 Studio Floral and Linen Effects.

Ashely and her bridesmaids woke, celebrated with a mimosa and then headed onsite to the River Blu Salon for hair and make up. Upon returning, Ashley got into her stunning dress purchased from Posh Bridal. Her Anne Klein shoes and the dusty rose Azazie dresses her bridesmaids wore were a perfect accent to her dress. I also love the gift that she presented to her mother. A commissioned piece of Ashley, her mother and her grandmother in their wedding dresses. After opening the gift, there was not a dry eye in the room.

Duncan and his groomsmen sported classic black tuxes from the Black Tux and Bentley Bates from Honey B Weddings kept the day moving with her incredible planning. Ashley and Duncan exchanged rings from Shane Co and Wedding Day Diamonds as Duncan’s father married the couple.

The St. James Hotel catering team provided a tasty meal for guests followed by a delicious cake from the Baker’s Table. Ambient Entertainment brought the party to the guests and had them dancing the whole night through while Jordan McKenna Films (Ashley’s cousin!) captured the entirety of the day on video.

It was an incredible day to celebrate a beautiful couple. Thank you for allowing me the honor of capturing your beautiful day!

American Club, Kohler WI Wedding:: Meghan & Mark

Their story story involves a dating app, a naked bike ride, a few cocktails, and great company. Meghan and Mark met after linking up on a dating app. Neither one knew who made the first move, but they are certainly happy one did. The couple headed to Dry Hop, a local brewery, for a drink and bite to eat. Laughter definitely took over when they looked out the window and saw hundreds of people biking down Broadway Avenue, sans clothes. They both knew they had something special because of the lighthearted nature each-other possessed. Mark had the ability to swoon Meg with his knowledge of literally everything, and Meg kepy Mark interested by challenging him to some friendly (read–competitive) trivia.

Many dates later, Meghan and Mark are still laughing and totally in love! In October of 2019, they decided to take a trip to visit some Bourbon distilleries in Louisville, Kentucky to celebrate our birthdays. (Meghan had a belated celebration as her MOH had a wedding on her birthday!) While in Kentucky, Mark proposed and Meghan said yes! (-Taken from their wedding web-site)

Meghan and Mark had planned to get married in 2020, but like many couples, had to rethink their wedding day. Because the couple resides in Chicago and Meghan’s parents are in Minneapolis, the couple decided to do a destination wedding in at The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin. The beautiful lake town that hugs Lake Michigan was a perfect location for a long weekend of celebrating with friends and family from near and far.

Their July wedding day was a beautiful one. Mark and Megan got ready at The American Club. With its spectacular views and stunning landscape, there was not a bad place for photos. The Kohler Spa did Meghan and her bridesmaids hair and make up. Meghan wore a beautiful satin Romona Kevaza gown purchased from Annika Bridal Boutique while her bridesmaids wore stunning baby blue Lula Kate gowns from Bella Bridesmaids.

Mark and his groomsmen got ready in their Brooks Brothers attire and monogramed sleeves while toasting Bourbon and shooting pool. Not one detail was overlooked as Meghan’s mother, Mary, planned an incredible day. Meghan and Marks’ monogram was displayed throughout the wedding day in everything from the ribbons on the bridesmaids flowers to the cake to the floor logo to each napkin the guests received at their place setting. Their beautiful wedding invitations designed by Kate Murphy, displayed a beautiful American Club in watercolor. Meghan and her father were escorted to the church ins a white classic Cadillac driven by Lee of Lee’s Classic Cars.

The coupe was wed at the beautiful and historic Holy Name Catholic Church, and then headed to the lakefront in a classic trolley and then Blackwolf Run Golf Course for photos. Upon arriving to their social hour, the couple celebrated with guests as they served their signature drinks and Lief Larson painted an exquisite piece for the couple as the reception was going on.

Meghan and Mark chose to do an East Coast style reception. Bella Diva’s Entertainment welcomed the new couple in to their first dance and then guests joined on the dance floor for a few dances. Meghan’s father gave a heart-wrenching speech, and guests broke into laughter as the maid of honor and best man gave tribute to Meghan and Mark. Cody and Tory of Exist Media captured the entire day for the couple.

Meghan and Mark, it was a joy to spend the day with you. Congratulations and best wishes to many happy years together!

St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud :: Wedding

They met while working at the same college outreach group in Florida. Aimmee from Minnesota, and Dominic from Florida. They both loved surfing, mini golf and Blaze Pizza. Many conversations happened at these places and eventually the couple began dating.

On their one year anniversary, Dominic brought Aimee up from Orlando to meet some of his extended family in Destin. The two headed to mass and after he brought her out to a small garden in the courtyard. He then explained that this was the church he would go to when he was a child with the family that they were going to be seeing and then got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Aimee and Dominic then went to celebrate with family on the warfs in Destin.

Their beautiful July wedding day was held in St. Cloud at St. Mary’s Cathedral where Aimee grew up. Aimee’s beautiful white lace wedding gown from Celebrations Bridal was perfect when paired with the lavender bridesmaid dresses. Dominic and his groomsmen sported grey suits from The Groomsmen Suit. Boom Island Park, Minneapolis:: Wedding

Typically as a 14 year old you are not looking for your future partner or do you think that the person you date in middle school you will marry. But for Jessica and Nick, their love story was made just streets apart.

Growing up in the Minneapolis suburbs, the two went to the same middle school, but didn’t start dating until high school. They became the best of friends and grew up together. When they graduated, the two both attended the same college and moved back to the Cities, purchased a home and then their rescue dog, Bear together.

Nick knew he was ready to ask Jessica to marry him, and put a plan into place when they traveled to Hawaii with Jessica’s family. The family decided to visit Kauai together and as they were walking along the volcanic rocks along the ocean, Nick got down on one knee and asked Jess to be his wife. The two were able to spend the rest of their trip celebrating with family and enjoying Hawaii’s beautiful views.

Their June wedding day was a beautiful one. Jessica and Nick got ready at the Courtyard by Mariott in downtown Minneapolis. With its stunning views of the city skyline, Jess and her bridesmaids started the day toasting with mimosas and getting hair and make up done by Pure Beauty and Make-up.

Because both Jessica and Nick love nature as well as Minneapolis, they decided to do their first look and many of the bridal party photos at Boom Island Park. Upon seeing Jess in her stunning gown from Our Shop Bridal, Nick held back tears as the couple saw each other for the first time. Jessica’s stunning bridal bouquet from Artemisia Studios was perfect when paired with the cathedral veil and lace back dress. The bridal party joined us, bridesmaids in lilac dresses from David’s Bridal and groomsmen in black tuxes from Savvi, and we had a fun time walking the park and the warmth of the summer day.

Their ceremony at St. Maron’s was beautiful and DJ Yaoob got and kept the party going while Dina and Matt of We Do Wedding Videography captured the entire day beautifully. Jessica and Nick, congratulations and cheers to many, many happy years together.
