The Meyers Family

Jeremy and I grew up together.  We met while I was in 5th grade and he in 4th.  Our families went to the same church.  I had 2 sisters and no brothers, and over time Jeremy became our “adopted brother.”  Even though we lived in different cities, we saw each other at least twice a week, if not more, as he hung out regularly at the Davis home.  As we grew up and graduated from high school, we still hung out; going on youth trips together as “counselors” (What a joke as we were only a few years older than the kids we were supposed to be mentoring),  hanging out together, me getting advise about guys from him and him receiving advise from me on girls.  Over time he met his amazing wife Elizabeth and Eva was born a few years after that.  This past weekend I had yet another chance to hang out with their family and do a session for them.  Being that we hadn’t seen each other in almost a year, and that I had just met his new son, we had to do coffee afterward, just to catch up.

One of the reasons I had not seen Jeremy for a year is because he is a soldier and was deployed during part of 2008.  We found this great tribute to the soldiers at the Coon Rapids Dam which fit their family perfectly.  (Elizabeth used to be on active duty too (as an officer), but is now retired!)

    The Addink Family

The Addink family is near and dear to my heart.  I met Nate back in college as we toured Canada together on a 8 week mission trip.  Many of my team-mates from that year are still very close friends of mine.  It was very cool to be able to be a part of the Addinks wedding and then Bett and I were pregnant with our first at the same time and ended up having our baby girls only 12 days apart.  Now at 5, they are best friends and so much alike!  We had so much fun together at Northwestern College in Roseville.  Even though it was cold, the kids had a blast playing together.

I love the way these 2 interact with their kiddos.  These are some for Nate’s desk!

I had totally forgotten the date that we were doing photos, until Hannah reminded me that Today she turned 5!!  To a pre-schooler, that is a VERY big deal.  So here are her 5 year old photos!

And this one wrapped up our day!  One of my favorites from the session, shows all their personalities so well.  Love you guys!

A day in the life of a 2 year old

“I was just face painting mom.”  Yes, this is why  I try to do all my work AFTER my kids are in bed.  Happy Wednesday!

        i heart faces… week 43

        i heart faces- adults

This week the theme is balloons.  I realized that I did not have many photos of balloons except a few from my kids from earlier in the summer when we visited Trader Joe’s.  So here is some free advertising for them (we love the store, and the free balloons every time we are there).  Here is my favorite from the afternoon of my girls.  I love the way they are just enjoying each other here.  Such sweetness.  I guarantee you that this is not the everyday at our home, but they do have a great love that shines through to each other once in a while!

        The Cox kiddos

I photographed Coy and Melissa’s wedding almost 4 years ago and from there I have been able to be involved in some monumental moments in their lives.  I have been able to photograph their oldest, Caydon, at the different stages and now I was able to meet and photograph their newest little girl.  We met up at Melissa’s mom’s home and used the backyard and beautiful leaves to get some great moments of their every day lives.I can’t wait to do more as these little one’s grow!
