closeIt was one of the last, really nice days of fall here in Minnesota. The weather was warm and perfect for this sweet little one year old. She even showed us her stuff as she strutted through the leaves. I can’t believe how much she has grown since the last time I saw her. What a sweetie!
Every fall I feel like there are reunions going on each weekend for me. I get to meet up with families to do their Christmas photos, catch up, and see how their kiddos have grown. This wonderful family is no different! It was been a blast to catch them at their different stages and this year was no different!
A baby is a true miricle. From the first thought, to the cells connecting, the growth in utero, to finally the birth. And then goes the meeting and the learning. The first year is filled with wonder and amazing growth. It has been such an honor to be able to photograph Max from the thought of him, to birth, and months and months in between. I had the amazing joy of photographing this little man a few days after his birth to a few days after his year birthday.
Max, you are certinally a gift to your parents as well as those of us who know your story. We love you so much and can’t wait to see the man God has created you to be.

For those of you who know me, I love toddlers.
And I love how toddlers don’t care about anything. They freely express themselves to the world in whatever way they please. As soon I as I met sweet toddler Gavin, I knew the session would be fun. Movin’ and groovin’ were all part of this little guys walk. He explored the water in the fountains and got down and dirty as he took a careful look at the rocks on the path. Jumping from mom to dad and back again, I felt the energy of this little guy. The sense and awe of the world around him as well as the freedom to just be himself in his sweet two year old body. I walked away from the session awed and renewed. I may have even kicked up my heels as I walked back to the car!
Thank you Karen! We truly had so much fun during our session with you. You really caught Gavin’s charm and excitement for life. We love all the photos and look forward to working with you again!
For the past 2 years, I have been able to watch these 4 kiddos grow. From being a baby, to a walking 2 year old! It has been great! I never get enough talking time in with these two beautiful women, Kim and Kris, it is always a joy to see you and your growing babies!
Including siblings in your newborn session… yes or no?
My answer is always yes.
It might feel a little chaotic in the moment, but those are often the images you end up treasuring the most—the real connection, the tiny interactions, the beginning of a new family story.
I’ve loved watching the Luong family grow through all three of their children’s newborn sessions, and those sibling moments are always some of my favorites.
