St. Louis Park, MN :: Newborn Session

The smell of newborn babies always brings my heart so much joy and documenting families as they grow and change has been such an honor. In 2015 I photographed Stacy and Tyler’s engagement session and then their beautiful wedding at the American Swedish Institute. I then saw them again when they welcomed their little girl home and now I have the incredible honor of meeting their newest addition, a sweet little boy.

Stacy and Tyler chose to do their newborn session in their home. We began in the nursery and then moved to their bedroom where the light was perfect. We added a few jumps on the bed and some doggie kisses and then focused on the little man.

I love seeing past client families grow. Congratulations Stacy and Tyler. You are incredible people and parents!

    Minnetonka :: Newborn Session

    It has been an honor getting to know Emily and her family over the years. In 2018 we met one snowy morning to do her maternity photos and from there, I have photographed her daughter as a teeny baby with a full head of beautiful hair, to now being a preschool sweetheart.

    When Emily and Derrick found out they were having a little boy, Emily reached out again and a few months ago we did her maternity session. Upon meeting this little one, I realized how much he looked like his sister, with that full head of hair, but how much his family was so gad to have him.

    With so much love to go around, I can’t wait to keep seeing this family over the year and watching this little man grow! Congratulations Emily and Derrick!

      Minneapolis Newborn Session:: Rowan

      Oh the incredible joy of newborns! I just love them so much. I also LOVE seeing past clients. Years ago I met Steve and Laura. I photographed both their engagement session and then their James J Hill wedding. Over the years we have stayed in touch through Facebook. The couple had moved out of state for years, but returned to Minnesota this past summer to be closer to friends and family.

      Little Rowan was born and Laura reached out to schedule a newborn session. I was so happy to do it and to see this couple become a family. Little Rowan slept his way through the session. We began in their beautifully decorated family room and then headed to the nursery which was decorated with various animals and prints. I loved the simplicity of the nursery and they way Rowan’s big brother took care of him.

      We then headed to his big brother’s room for stories and bed jumping and then ended the session on their beautiful front stoop surrounded by beautiful ivy and greens. I love these in home sessions. They are so relaxed and sweet. I already can’t wait to see this family in the future!

        Shoreview Newborn Session:: Parker

        Fatima has been a long time viewer on the blog and such an encouragement as I post, so when they welcomed sweet Parker to their family, she reached out to see if I was available to do a session. I was thrilled to hear all these things and so happy to be able to work them into my schedule.

        We began their session in Parker’s incredible nursery, filled with beautiful artwork and them most modern, clear crib I have ever seen. Fatima’s decorating style was so much fun filled with loads of color and textures. We utilized her incredible rugs and blankets and then ended the session in front of their beautiful fireplace with their pooch, a golden retriever, that was the friendliest, most protective pooches. I also loved the blankets and onesies that were covered in Parker’s name. So unique!

        I look forward to seeing more of them in the future! Congratulations!!

          Coon Rapids Newborn Session:: Arlo

          Just about two years ago in the height of the pandemic after their beautiful spring maternity session, Marisa and Nate were welcoming sweet Emily

          into their home, and what a joy she has been. Now just two years later, Arlo joined them and of course, fun ensued as we did his newborn session together.

          Arlo was one incredibly, patient little guy. We were turning him and loving on him and chatting with him all morning. I am pretty sure by the time I left that day, he was out cold!

          We started their session in the beautiful nursery that Nate and Marisa decorated so beautifully capturing the entire family, along with their pup, Wylie. We ended their session in trying to capture the kids together, and sweet Emily decided she needed a little snooze and so did Arlo who ended up right next to her. Probably one of the sweetest photos I have taken in a while. It was such a joy to see this family again!

            Becoming an entrepreneur wasn’t easy. It took a lot of hard work in understanding what I wasn’t good at before understanding what I was good at. I failed a lot in the process.
.
We often only see the good things and success stories on social media, but getting to the point where we are confident in ourselves and our work takes time and lots of failures. Trust me. 25 years and still working at it!!
