I have entered this contest numerously, and tonight I won a best of pic. Super cool. Here’s a re-cap of the photo that won! More posts to come this week!

Sweet dreams is the theme for this week. I had to post this because it is one of my all time favorite newborn photos. While in the hospital I photographed this little guy. His mom whipped out the shirt, and I had to laugh. See here for more sweet dreaming faces and here for the judges Justin and Mary Marants’ web-site, its way cool!

What an adorable picture…and I LOVE the shirt!! 🙂
Love this- so peaceful.
Seriously GREAT shirt. Oh my gosh. So funny and adorable. I just love it : )
Amazing shirt AND great picture too! 🙂 I love it – no wonder it’s a favorite!
Oh my, is that sweet! I love the shirt!
Oh my word. What an awesome shirt! And that baby is pretty stinkin’ cute too.

The new trend in photography these days: sun flare and shooting into the sun. I love the concept, and I love using the sun creativily. Here is a shot I did last fall for a woman who loves her horses. For me, a very city mouse, it was wonderful experence to catch the scenery around her and catch her in her element!
To see more fun photos with sun flare, head on over to ihearfaces. While you’re at it, go visit B]ecker and check out all the cool photography tutorials he has. You’ll quickly become a fan if you aren’t already.
Beautiful. 🙂
Great sun flare and beautiful location! I love a good horse photo 🙂
This is stunning! Love it!!
LOVE this!!!
Great photo! I love the colors and the composition of the photo. The sun flare makes it great1
I also live in Minneapolis. Saw on your twitter that you were editing. I just got photoshop last week and have been trying hard to learn it. It’s been a blast so far. Tonight I thought I had skin smoothing down and turned a little baby from white to dark brown skin…but it was smooth! 🙂
Your photography style is beautiful.
Thanks Tami
It’s encouraging to know that people are reading the blog. Good luck with the editing and photoshop. I was using some actions with that photo, but it is fun to play around with. Glad to know there are others in the Cities that are involved with faces. I feel like so many of the photographers are out in CA! Wish I lived there sometimes to have a longer season!
love horses 🙂 great shot
Wow! Great shot! I love it!

Autumn beauty is the theme this week. In the 20+ shoots that I have done this fall, this engagement photo stuck out to me. It was on one of those cloudy days that I did not expect to see the sun, and when it appeared the lighting and colors were FABULOUS! It’s days like this that I am thankful to live in MN and have the seasons!

Beautiful!
That tree takes my breath away. Great composition!
Wow! Lovely color!! Love the light, love the composition.
Beautiful picture. It tells a beautiful story.
Very nice. I love the light coming through the trees and the shadow and the compositions and… ok i love it all!! Great photo!
nice post. thanks.
Wow! Such beautiful colors!!
No one said you had to do newborn photos inside! Taking lifestyle newborn photos outside and making them true to your style makes them even more meaningful and significant!!
“When should we schedule newborn photos?”
If you’re expecting (whether it’s your first baby or you’re adding to your crew), this is one of the most common questions I get
The sweet spot?
7–14 days after your baby arrives
Those early days are something special…
Your baby is still sleepy, snuggly, and curled up in that fresh, just-born way—and it changes so quickly.
But here’s what matters just as much:
You don’t have to go anywhere.
My newborn sessions take place in your home whether it’s a quiet morning with your first baby or a full, beautifully busy house with siblings running around.
No pressure. No perfect expectations.
Just your family, exactly as you are in this season.
If you’re thinking about newborn photos, I recommend reaching out during your second trimester so I can save space around your due date
I shared more about what to expect (and why timing matters) over on the blog link is in my bio!
If this season is coming up for you, I’d love to connect
On this gorgeous spring day, I find myself reliving Connor and Kristen’s wedding at Bavaria Downs.
An effortlessly timeless celebration layered with refined details, soft summer light, and a kind of beauty that never asks for attention, it simply exists. Every moment felt intentional, elegant, and deeply meaningful… the kind of day that lingers long after it’s over.
Truly, a wedding that defines what it means to be both classic and unforgettable.
If you’re envisioning a day that feels elevated, seamless, and entirely your own, I would be honored to document it.
