If you have a sister I know you can relate. I have 2 of them. I am the oldest. My role has been noted as the protector, know-it-all, pace setter, over achiever, people pleaser, and nurturer, just to name a few. I have to say that these traits mark me well, (although I am not proud of all of them). I am so thankful though, that I do have 2 others who have COMPLETLY different personalities and who have lived through my not so remarkable traits. Two who will laugh hysterically when I send out the Thanksgiving e-card, wake up early with me on Christmas mornings, roll our eyes at my dad’s cheesy jokes, love on my mom when she just needs a hug, or remember that leg warmers really were cool at one time. Two who sharpen me through the ups and downs of life, and will love me even at my worst. My first little sister turns 28 today. Here’s to remembering the past (yes we were children of the 80’s) and looking forward to the future.
