Sharbono Short and Sweet

For the next week or so I will be highlighting families from my short and sweet sessions.  I just adore these sessions because they are what they say:  Short and Sweet.  For toddlers they are excellent, because their attention span is about 20-30 minutes and who-laah, just when they are done, so am I!

I just love the Sharbono’s.  I was able to get to know them through a previous job and since then we have all moved on.  Addie was born 3 years ago and she is just a sweetie!  When we did her one year photos she introduced me to her duckie, and it is still being loved on!

    I just love adoption.  The very word and meaning are true and dear to my heart.  The outpouring of love comes from opening up a family’s world and allowing another person or people to enter.  The Johnson’s have not only opened up their home once, but seven times to children needing families.  They are an amazing example to me, and came to their winning shoot full of love for each other!  Between all eight of their children I saw respect, love, compassion and joy.  Barb and Chris, you are amazing parents and examples.  Thanks for allowing me into your crazy-fun world!

    I met Noel and Paul a few years ago at a friend’s party.  There we realized that we were neighbors!  Our kids have been able to play together and get to know each other as they have grown.  (Jack still calls Ben “baby Ben”)  Loving children, Paul and Noel felt called to adopt an older child from over seas and 7 year old Darius was referred to them.  The fell in love right away and as I photographed their new family together, I couldn’t help but see the resemblance of the two boys, completely destined for each other.   Much love to you all as you grow together!

      Muvihill Family: winners!

      Yes they are!  And just in time!  Jen entered one of my contests back in February for a free family photo shoot, and Kate came just in time to get some 2 week old photos of her and the boys!

      We just had a great time and connected in so many ways as we walked around one of their favorite paces and mine, Northwestern College.

      They were all troopers as we headed outside for a few blustery April shots.

      I just adored how these two little boys loved their new baby sister.

      At the end of our session the boys were rewarded with suckers, and I just had to take the camera out again to get a few of these photos!

        Becoming an entrepreneur wasn’t easy. It took a lot of hard work in understanding what I wasn’t good at before understanding what I was good at. I failed a lot in the process.

        We often only see the good things and success stories on social media, but getting to the point where we are confident in ourselves and our work takes time and lots of failures. Trust me. 25 years and still working at it!!
