I’m Karen, the owner and principal photographer of Karen Feder Photography. I love being able to share in the love of two individuals and feel so blessed to get to work with such wonderful people every week!
When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me somewhere in the sun, relaxing with my husband or friends, or looking for new travel locations. With three young adult children, we love being together as a family whenever we can.
After graduating from the University of Northwestern in St. Paul with a degree in studio art, I worked with a Time/ Life photographer. He disliked shooting weddings and slipped me one he didn’t want to do. From that point on, I was hooked. In 2002 I started my own business and have never looked back.
Based out of the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area, I have been shooting weddings for over two decades and have been blessed to have shot award winning photos from weddings in CA, NY, St. Lucia and all over the Midwest

Spring at Lake Harriet gave us the dreamiest backdrop for Lindy + Arend’s engagement session. The blooms were at their absolute peak, the flowers were full and vibrant, and every corner felt like something out of a painting. These two made the whole evening feel effortless as we wandered through all the beauty that comes with Minnesota spring.
Now we’re counting down to their September wedding, when the scenery will look completely different filled with rich autumn colors and falling leaves but just as beautiful. I cannot wait to celebrate these two in a whole new season of life together!

There’s something so timeless about a session at the Minnesota State Capitol; the grand architecture, soft spring light, and elegant details made the perfect backdrop for Katlyn and Noah’s engagement session. We spent the afternoon wandering both inside and outside the Capitol, capturing moments that felt classy, romantic, and completely true to them. Add in a beautiful spring day with the perfect temperatures and blooming trees, and it truly could not have been more beautiful.
I already know their July wedding is going to be absolutely incredible, and I cannot wait to celebrate alongside them again so soon!
